OP edited his post and added a link to the source from where he copied those sentences. So not sure if mods will remove it.
I Have no idea why he added them ar first place as it wasn't needed at all!

I read the topic and most of the replies and honestly can't blame the users who posted there as they were, mainly, replying and interacting with op's story not the plagiarized content.

Please report plagiarism on this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/report-plagiarism-copypaste-here-mods-please-give-temp-or-permban-as-needed-1926895 , so moderators would ban the OP.

As others said, very rarely users trading all replies on the thread. Rather than just reply based on the main post and that's why some users hadn't noticed it or just skip for Signature spam. To be honest, very few people care about the forum. I have not been replying if I notice the thread or post has plagiarized. Rather than just report and moderators take action against plagiariser.

Little inquiry, do plagiarized contents gets deleted by the mods when a user is banned, not nuked?
I used to think the post is allowed to stay up as it could act as prove later in case of an appeal (although LoyceV's archive covers this). The discussion could also still be relevant and something other members can learn from, even though it breaks forum rules.
That's actually a good question. I do think that some of the posts get deleted, but not all. I don't know whether it has anything to do with the amount of replies plagiarized opening post of topic got, but I just checked some of my previous reports and I can see that topic is still there (while having bunch of replies) despite poster being banned.

Then again, it could be that you are right and none of the plagiarized posts are deleted unless user is nuked but I could swear that some of them got deleted while user just get banned. Maybe mods can clear this up.

Usually, I do not reply if I notice the thread or post has plagiarized. Rather than just report and moderators take action against plagiariser.
My rule of thumb: if I see unusually well written post from a newbie user that looks like it could be a plagiarism, I just skip it (and check whether it's plagiarized). Maybe I am too paranoid, but that's how I deal with these things, I don't want to engage in conversation that starts in dishonest way.

Why did they not read the plagiarism announcement post? I am speechless.
Nice catch on that one, and if you see more instances of blatant plagiarism in the future just report it to the mods and they'll take care of it.  Likely the entire thread will get nuked.

As to why people keep replying after you've pointed out that the OP was plagiarized:  Most members here don't read anything except the thread title before making their own post.  Why?  Because most members are being paid to post here through sig campaigns/bounties, and thus reading posts is just wasted time for them.  I'd imagine everyone who posted after you pointed out the plagiarism didn't even see your post.

That's how bitcointalk is, and it's been this way for years.  It's frustrating when you know your posts are being ignored, but that depends on which sections you're posting in.  The Economics section has been teetering on the edge of being a spam section (like Bitcoin/Altcoin Discussion).  That's unfortunate, because there's some really good stuff there, but that's the reality.

the entire thread will get deleted that is what I observed from my experience here.
That's what I've seen, too.  So all of those members who posted in the thread OP pointed out wasted their time by doing so.

All those posts written there will disappear anyway once mods deal with your report.

Most of the time it won't be removed. But if a thread created with the plagiarized content with no real purpose then OP will be banned as well as their first post will be deleted which means the entire thread will get deleted that is what I observed from my experience here.

I also did this before, I'd warned on the first page in the topic that the post was plagiarized from the article together with my achieved as proof that might OP will edit the post and then I hit the button "report to moderator".  After an hour, the reply was reached 3 pages, I'm shocked that the post was still there and users keep replying to the plagiarized post.

Maybe after we had warned and reported to the MODs are enough, let's MODs handle that case, if there are a few users will report the post, it will probably be deleted.  Because as for me, I won't waste my time giving ideas on the plagiarized posts because I know it will be deleted sooner or later after the OP will be banned from copy-pasting.

It's very hard to notice whether the topic is plagiarise or not since not all user encounter already the same topic before. Its good to post a warning on the thread but don't expect that everyone will notice it immediately since most of the poster is reading only the Main OP then click reply button without reading all the previous post especially when the thread is already on 2nd page above and your warning post is on the last page too.

The suggestion above about reporting it to the moderator is best solution to this issue. You can try to use large font plus red color on your text to highlights your warning so that it might catch the attention of person that will post.

The answer is very simple: majority of posters don't read posts made on the 2nd page before writing the  reply. They read the first post and eventually few more (usually not even that) and just dump their opinion on the matter and move on. Rinse and repeat, and that's one of the reasons why  there is very little genuine conversations on the forum.

I've tried few times to do exactly what you did, warn the people that they are answering on plagiarized post, but since they just ignored the warning  I stopped with that practice. Just report that post to the moderators (I reported it too) along with plagiarism accusation and let mods deal with that. All those posts written there will disappear anyway once mods deal with your report. Just to add that's the pretty stupid plagiarism case, as OP didn't get anything by copying those  unnecessary explanations, his story would be the same.

A topic is plagiarism and after the post to announce it is plagiarism. People ignored the announcement and made their posts.

Why did they not read the plagiarism announcement post? I am speechless.
