I like boobies
Legalization is a trick, so that government can tax it. Don't legalize. Simply repeal laws that make it illegal.

For example, is the comb in your pocket legal? Is it illegal? Neither. It is simply your property, the comb in your pocket. Is the ring on your finger legal? Is it illegal? Neither. It is simply your property, a ring on your finger.

The point is, repeal all the laws that place any restraints on people. Let the laws apply to corporations and artificial entities only.

Base all laws only on harm or damage done, where someone harms someone else or damages his property. And make such laws very strong laws, like the death penalty for first time robbery. If we set all government up around this thinking, then we would have complete freedom.

Think about it before you reply.

Wow! Well, said. This is absolutely your best post! (And, it's not just because you didn't mention god in it once.)  Wink

I agree. Even though that comb can be fashioned into a shank to kill someone and that ring (what it symbolizes) could be used to legally (illegally) manipulate someone, it's not the property of people, but the actions of people that we ought to be concerning ourselves with, if harm is done.

This is what legalizing marijuana did to the black market in Colorado

Quote
"The black-market prices are definitely lower than recreational prices," says Michael Elliott, executive director of Colorado's Marijuana Industry Group. "The taxes are a big reason why, the new testing requirements, the packaging requirements, and basically this whole hurdle of the extraordinary expenses people have had to go through to open these businesses. Another reason is that the businesses have had limited supply." The supply problem was especially acute in the early months, before the first harvests of plants raised for the recreational market, when re-purposed medical marijuana was the only source...

If both, legalization laws and illegal laws were repealed, there would be no way that the cartels could sell cheaper. The cartels would dry up. People would have more income, because they could all grow their own.

The U.S. government would lose a whole lot of money that they get in their war on drugs. In fact, if you look for it, you will find that the U.S. government is one of the biggest supporters of illegal marijuana, so they can do all kinds of shady things under the guise of the war on drugs.

We are the champions of the night
I wish it was 100% decriminalized so people could just grow their own, but if it was regulated like alcohol and I could grab a pack of J's from the gas station that would be cool too.  Keeping it illegal is just stupid, people are gonna get high either way and we're just messing up people's lives for doing nothing wrong
