It is not happening in the same way that previous world wars have happened. I really don't think what is happening would even be considered to be a world war. What is happening today is a number of proxy wars when a very small group is funded by many other countries. These proxy wars are very localized.

What a world war really is many countries allied with eachother who are fighting against many other countries that are fighting against eachother. The war zones will not only be spread across countries, but across continents.

To answer the OP's question, no nukes will not be used. The reason for this is because a world war will never break out because of nukes. Countries are too afraid to go to war with eachother directly because of how close to nuclear destruction we are even without war.

There will never be another world war because of globalization,
basically all economies now tied together, and nuclear proliferation.
The best you will get are regional conflicts

Probably world leaders don't want use nukes. But who knows what will happen when things will go really bad for one of them and that rationnality will be gone?

i had a weird dream once about that. War will become a normal sight to see in every day life. A bit like in Orwell's 1984 or like in Gaza, just not that devastating, actually everything shiny just like what's expected from a consumer culture. It's just that a rocket would sometimes hit the shopping mall next to you, with a few casualties, but people will be desensitized, a short mention in the news, it will be considered normal, some will even cheer, things have to be repaired and rebuilt, which creates jobs after all... I think unless someone dangerous comes along and tries to deliberately trigger a proper World War nukes won't happen but we'll begin to see situations like Ukraine a lot more, I think things will be done mostly through revolutions and economic/electronic warfare.

It probably won't take a lot to trigger a full on war though, like I said, just some crazy person with a nuke.

There's been thousands of nuclear tests since 1945 and we're still here on this planet.

Yes some countries have 10,000s of nukes but the actual number of strategic is a lot less. Most nukes are technically tactical nukes with lower yields and have being dropped in importance in military doctrine due to laser targeted bombs.

Nuke is too effective and cheap to wipe out an entire nation and end the war too soon. The goal for the military industry complex is to prolong war and sell weapons on both side to keep the profit rolling in.

What do you think lol?
Most of the time in wars countries don't fight other countries. Countries fight alliances, and organizations in a certain country. A nuke would be last resort as It will result in civilian casualties.

All people farmers agree, nukes do more harm than good (who wants to take over a nation they nuked? That's expensive.) However, you forget about them if there's prolonged peace, so there must be the looming threat of nuclear war forever to continue harvest.

Did you know, a single bullet can end your life? A tiny little bullet. Through the cranium. Dead. Those are everywhere, mind you. Understanding this, does a nuclear bomb really matter? It's not like it changes how many times you'll die, and by the time you're dead, you'll forget all about how much it hurt.

So many countries have nuclear weapons that if WWIII were too erupt, one itchy trigger finger could end civilization.

Hopefully these weapons would only be used as threats or posturing. Although hard to predict what a country would do if their backs were against the wall and they had this power.

I'm 100 percent sure nukes will be use. The correct question is when. If a country like Russia is defeated on conventional warfare it will use its nukes and all its weapons of mass destruction at hand. It is also they same with China, India and Pakistan.

This countries has prepared underground cities and bunkers knowing full well this nukes will use in just a matter of time.

No is the obvious answer.

All the big nations realize conventional warfare will ensure mutual destruction with both sides losing. What they can do is use small countries like a pawn to provoke bigger nation to attack them.
