Nothing.

America is perfect the way it is.

It is an experiment of capitalism and we'll soon find out if was successful or not.

I would change the teenagers. The more the years go by the worse people become especially the teenagers. The things they get involved in is just heart breaking some times. The music, drugs, drinking and sexual activities are just a part of it. It really hurts me when I see a teenage girl that is pregnant, how exactly are they supposed to take care of the kid if they cant even take care of themselves. Mot of these kids never grow to have normal lives. Its no wonder that teenagers are very involved in the porn industry. Too bad no one can change the world, you cant go around stopping teens from having sex. No matter what rules are put in place, there will always be the rule breakers.

End The Federal Reserve. It is the most heinous criminal organization that has caused more human suffering, loss of life, and wasted toiling and effort than any organization that has ever existed in human history.

That would need to also end fractional reserve banking and abandon the Chicago school of economy and embrace the Austrian school. The Austrians want gold as currency (not a fiat backed in gold or bank notes, but actual gold coins). But we now have Bitcoin, which is a good substitute.

Of course switching to the Austrian school mentality implies changing many (bad) habits, such as getting in debt rather than save to buy/invest.

In short, yes: just embrace the Austrian school. Teach about Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek, Huerta de Soto, and friends.
The question was about America, but its equally valid for All the World.

Of course, the bankers would not tolerate such a thing, which is why the status quo remains...

If banks were forced to play with full reserve rules, no national reserve would be needed, but they would shrink inevitably. Under those rules, you can still let them loan your money, but during the loan that money becomes unavailable to you. Also, if you don't allow it, logically you have to pay the bank to keep your money safe, not the other way around... Remember, with money that doesn't lose value overtime, the need for banks shrinks. Unfortunately gold is a bit too risky to keep around: Enter Bitcoin.

If you still have fears of deflation, you have yet to read the Austrians. Don't fear it, it works, and beautifully too; its simply slower to growth, but bubbles an crashes are no more. Read and recommend others to read Austrian economics, its free online: https://mises.org

I'd make every adult to be a God fearing, Bible thumping, libertarian... with their kids following in their footsteps.

Cool

libertarians aren't such great people they are tyrants in their own way, communists can be equally god fearing, libertarians want to create spheres of private tyrany

Anybody can be a tyrant. But people who are generally honest aren't tyrants.

Let people be free to do anything they want, as long as it doesn't hurt or directly threaten anyone else.

For example, in traffic control, post the highway speed at say, 65mph. But let the people travel 100mph if they want. But if they cause an accident, their punishment is "eye for eye, hand for hand, tooth for tooth, and life for life." Regarding the life for life thing, after the guilty guy works off the debt to the family of which he killed a member. Of course, if there is insurance that takes care of that, execute him right away.

Let's be free rather than under a bunch of arbitrary laws that don't hurt anyone if you disobey them. Get all the jokers who smoked a joint out of prison if they didn't hurt anyone. Get rid of all those stupid regulations, but post warnings so that a person is guilty if he harms someone accidentally by breaking a warning.

All you want is slavery for people. You are like a bunch of similar jokers. Make the laws that you want to only be yours to obey.

Flying Hellfish is a Commie
have america where states have more individuality and not the puppets of the fed
by this i mean let states really have there laws and the fed is just there to support state laws that are universal across all states

take examples of immigration. if some states allow it. then the fed cant enforce or control or pressure immigration resistance. because its not a UNITED state law.
however murder rape, massacre are UNITED state laws which every state agree's need support.

treat the fed as a uncle people call in when they need an extra hand. not the nanny/parent that controls and teaches the house rules

this can help reduce wasted budgets on needless things. stop cross state bickering due to fed agency interventions. and actually bring the power back to the people

I think this can't be fixed through some legislation, as the federal government has always found a way to get around this and to exert their influence in other ways. This is literally the way that the federal government forces a large amount of changes -- think of education. The federal government isn't just able to force the states into their education initiatives.

Though the federal government can provide large federal grants for following their initiatives. This is how no child left behind and every student succeeds was always to get states to join the educational initiative.

So not sure how you'd change that....

I think openness and honesty are right. But this will not happen if all people act differently, for the sake of some benefit. Therefore, first of all, I would like the people around me (and even more so in the government!) be honest with themselves and with other people. And I make these demands first of all to myself.

I'd say I want to change the current, but it is evident for most of us here. So my answer is: we need to change our social security policy. The citizens pay taxes not for being unprotected.

Hi, I'm a candidate for the 5th Congressional District of Ohio.

I support Bitcoin.

Immutability has its uses. A public ledger makes taxation and reporting easy.

I would make the Rockies taller and bigger.  Add a few super wide rivers to the mid-west, and have a couple extra floridas sticking out of each coast.

I would change the flag. It kind of looks like a math puzzle at the moment. I would change it to a big, badass eagle ripping into the neck of a snake. Maybe have him standing on some cactuses. With a backdrop of three red, white and green vertical stripes -- green replacing blue because I like green better.

If you could change one thing about America, what would you change?

A separate question that deserves a separate response. The US is the world power, and US decisions and activities resonate globally. The biggest problem that the world faces is inequality - not just within affluent Western societies with the fight against the 1%, but across the world - literally billions of people don't even have access to safe clean drinking water.
Centrist politics is collapsing, and a wave of populist demagogues have swept to power. Modi in India is terrible, with his rampant Hindu nationalism, but we have other countries with similar situations, Duterte in the Phillippines, Bolsonaro in Brazil, Xi crushing dissent in China, we now have Boris Johnson here in the UK and of course we have Trump.
With this in mind, the change I would like is Bernie as President. He can introduce reforms to curb the excesses of the elite, re-enfranchise (if that's a word) and reinvigorate working class and left-behind communities and drive down this rampant inequality. And with the US as an example, a new politics can gain traction across the world. Perhaps I'm being naive and unrealistic, but this is the change I'd like. The US leads and other countries follow. Bernie offers a huge opportunity for the US to show everyone else how countries should be run.

From the perspective of a government, yes, absolutely. The immutability of the blockchain can have tremendous benefits. The problem with bitcoin from a government perspective is its decentralised nature. The government - any government - wants an immutable record where the government itself has complete control. You can see why they would want this, and it presents huge privacy concerns. This is the exact same problem as the Facebook coin. I believe that a large part of the purpose of any state controlled 'digital dollar' is surveillance. There are security issues, too - with a private blockchain, you have that single point of failure that is absent from a decentralised network. It's much easier for hackers or other bad actors to compromise a centralised chain.
If you are going for public office and you support bitcoin, that's great! Just be wary of government demands for control, and the distinction between what bitcoin is, and what a subverted government-equivalent might look like.

If you could change one thing about America, what would you change?

2 things

sustainability of america

usa is completely unsustainable as a society and lives of european labor since centuries, african and other labour will one day turn america into a communist society, if not into a racist one.

second:

usa struggles to be racially neutral, and continues to be racist, from antinative, to anti black it switched to antiwhite. and thats ridiculous.
