Even though UniversityCoin did crash and burn in their first attempt, people really need to cut them some slack.

We all know the reason there was so much interest in the coin is because they have a solid long-term strategy.

So what if they need to re-launch after 24 hours so they can fix their code? As they even admitted in the thread, it was their first launch, something was bound to go wrong. They pushed the source WAY too early, I don't deny that either, but who cares really... they learned their lesson and took the shit for it that they deserved.

If they follow through with their long-term plans, UVC will be huge.

Only time will tell though, it'll be interesting to see the re-launch.

It's not easy to find GitHub (or alternatives sites) source code for currencies that haven't been released but there are a lot of smart people out there who probably can.

In a nutshell, don't upload your source unless you have an account with private repositories enabled. It only costs a few bucks a month which is a pittance to pay for hundreds of hours put into developing your coin, not to mention the effects of it being suddenly swiped from under your feet.

Once your coin is tested and ready to go, you can make the private repository public... and VOILA.... success without premine scumbags ruining your day.

Don't push fucking sources to github before launch.

We are all wild and smart enough to use github search and find this repo before you post a link in OP.

Cheers, universitycoin and many other coins. Also don't trust pools, yesterday damn launch failed due to this shit, and not only pools are greedy liars. I am 100% sure people found it. I also found, but I am too lazy to waste my time for obvious shit.

They also said they had a problem with the difficulty re-adjustment. Therefore, about 5% of the coins were mined 10 or 20mn after launch.

Was it the result of the problem you expose, or a separate one?

Because there is a huge difference between a pool that cheat one or two block, and 5% insta mining a whole coin.
