I'm talking about a pretty long term investment.
Mines would probably be:
4k on Nexus (NXS)
2K on Waves (WAVES)
2k on Ripple (XRP)
1K on Ethereum Classic (ETC)
1K on diverse shit coins
What would yours be?

unless you already have another $10K invested in bitcoin alone, then you are taking a ridiculous amount of risk and lose lots of money if you invest in altcoins only.

if i had $10K to invest. $8K would have been invested in bitcoin and the rest of the $2K would have been altcoin trading. and i say trading because i would never hold altcoins as long term investment that would be silly.

and among altcoins my first choice is always Monero which you missed out on.
then it would be Litecoin specially pre-SegWit and pre-pump to the moon.
and them any other altcoin as long as i can catch them before pump.

Don't forget about NXT and Ardor!

The technology being presented with Ardor and the POS child chains with transferable assets make this also a fantastic choice.

Darcrus (DAR)   12%
Blackcoin (BLK)   13%
Viacoin (VIA)   4%
Florincoin (FLO)   8%
Vertcoin (VTC)   4%
Ubiq (UBQ)   13%
Bitcoin (BTC)   20%
Digibyte (DGB)   10%
NXT                   4%
Ardor (ARDR)     10%

If I had this amount for investing I will invest majority of it with bitcoin and I will impart the rest to those coins like potential.

I will go for, $500 for monero, $500 for Ripple, $500 for ETH, $400 for Waves and $100 for any coins that has no name.

I'm prefer on stable value like doge , ETH , & LTC

Other than them , I'm still difficult to manage my trade for the profit as the value can't consistent from time to time compare my selected coin

LTC is stable  Shocked

That's not money you go round throwing around but I would buy 5grand worth of bitcoins for holding and $500 for Ethereum then $500 would go into an ICO project and the rest I would keep it off the crypto chain.

$10k amount is already big and before investing into crypto world i would secure first my common needs like house and needs on able to live. Then the rest would be on bitcoin some part of it and keep it for long term and for other alts i would choose XMR and RAI since these coins are good.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
investing such a big amount of money into altcoins is not such a wise idea. unless you are a millionaire and 10K $ is like pocket change for you!

if you want to invest, then buy bitcoin and hodl it. as you can see it is only rising in the long term with each year 2x profit than the last year.

altcoins are sometimes good investments but they don't stay good for long. you can find some for a medium term investment such as 1-2 months but usually it is best to get out of them afterwards.

I would look for ten projects with good developers and invest $1000 in each of this project. If 5 out this five succeed going forward you are in for a great return. The most important thing in ALtcoin investment is to be discipline enough to know when to take your profit and run.

Top Crypto Casino
1) A car, as I currently am hoofing it.
2) Bank of America stock, which is headed for $40/share, and I have no doubt they're going to increase their dividend as the years go on.  They're still recovering from the mortgage-security crash from 2008.
3) PROBABLY bitcoin.
4) I wouldn't buy any altcoins whatsoever.  There's nothing good, I don't care what kind of smoke the people here are trying to blow up our asses.

I would be investing on the Golem, Iconomi, Santimen, Komodo, Qtum, ethereum.

I don't believe ETC will be good long term investment. Looks like the price of ETC is always decrease and that's very bad to choose it.

You pretty sure did pick a strange group of coins. Maybe some are at bottom and that is all that matter at trading. at holding a bit less, but still.  I dont know much of most you posted, but I would dis-advise buying XRP in next few years, until they finish their coin distribution they are onyl 1/3 there. and they are giving coins for free. So that is how much they should be worth.

BTC? really? Why? What will happen? Once the btc-only exchanges like coinbase and bitstamp start accepting best altcoins(as they already promised), the merchants that now use btc will start accepting altcoins. The future is in the altcoins, not in old grandpa btc who is already centralized, non private, slow and with huge blockchain.

+1

I (OP) think the same. I wouldn't invest 1k on BTC even if I had 20k.

In advance, I am not objective to 100%.
I would invest in lisk as a good long term investment.
The price is far down at the moment and I see a good chance.

Two further projects would be waves and ark(not startet yet) which is good. A
nd of course a large part of the 10k in Bitcoin, every good long term.

Is just my personal opinion. Please researched before investing.

Your LISK oppinion sounds a bit... biased, my friend

^^

You should read my post properly  Wink

My first sentence was: In advance, I am not objective to 100%.

Should be obvious.

Why do I see no one talking about nexus? o.o It sounds like literally the coin of the future. Are they all bagholders of some coin?

I don't hold anything at the moment myself so I am 100% objective, my money is not in game yet.

why nexus? their wallet don't work well it's very slow and buggy at the start, and ytou cna't solo mine or mien at all with the miner because the wallet has a different version, and because you can't use the exchange address you are stuck with anminable coin, not good imho, i would choose somethign else, like picoin which look good to me take a look at it, nice airdrop and pow phase

I know some people already invested more than 5K $ on raiblocks.  Personally I'd go with BTC for a very, very long term investment.  With small amount on ETH and ETC.

Can you tell me about RaiBlocks?

You can learn more of about it from here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annxrbcryptocurrencys-killer-app-raiblocks-micropayments-1381323

Quote
Why RaiBlocks?
No fees: The RaiBlocks network has no notion of fees.
Low latency: Transactions are natively processed instantly giving a responsive experience.
Scalability: Micropayments require a system capable of significant scalability
Simplicity: Users have a simple experience without technical jargon.

Also the "mining" is done by people and not by CPU/GPU/ASICs.

There's a trading thread too: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/raiblocks-raiblocks-trading-thread-1422828.
3 weeks ago the price was around 50 satoshi.  Now it's around 400 satoshi.
