I am familiar with these experiences. Earlier i made the same mistake. yes, im sure this is mistake, try to sell by falling market.
Whoever is doing this doesnt understand crowd psychology and the cyclical nature of the market. Guys, just relax and try to focus on something else until  the market will change direction.

Completely agree with you. Creating mass histeria will only cause unexpected market volatility. BTC is high now and it will not see a major drop sooner than a few months. Just hold on to your coins for now.

There are many good and well established alts in the market at the moment that can hold their own against fiat or bitcoin. The biggest risk,or biggest potential perhaps, are new or less well-known coins.
I combine the two, safe with ETH and some new altcoin easy to invest at low prices. It can bring unexpected results. However, we can only judge at one point.

The notion that if you didn't day trade or connect with every profitable spot that was available is horrendous. Who cares if people executed what you thought was correct? I don't think everybody here is a day trader and for those who make moves less often these day to day or week to week fluctuations don't matter to us. In the long run we want to make money or BTC, that is the plan and as long as that happens and happens at a decent rate nobody is going to care about day trades.

Daily trading might be good for those who don't have much money to invest right away

Well I never sold a single Bitcoin that I intended to keep, and I always sell of my alts to recover the Bitcoin invested (used to buy the alts) so I guess I am a partial idiot. Bitcoin is my asset, my wealth and what I love most because:
> I can use it any time
> i can sell it any time

Alts I always worry will lose their value, though am confident the ones I truly hold will have many years left in them - Monero, Litecoin, Waves, stratis.

And yes, I was an idiot with alts like Elastic. Hold forever and it keeps going down.

The ones you mentioned aren't just any alts, I wouldn't worry holding those. The people that should worry are the ones invested in the lesser coins.

I don't give a damn with what you think. If you sold your alts, well happy for you but please respect other's decision of holding longer. We all have our own gameplans and strategies on how to earn more here and if you are impatient fine with me. I am a long term investor and i maintain that  prices of my alts would gonna be up to the moon soon and i'm keeping my fingers crossed while waiting forbthe rebound.

If you haven't sold in to bitcoin yet, just wait for the next rebound.

I am holding my alts as I am more of a long-term investor. I have picked up coins from a very low point like ICX VEN SUB AION so for me to be at a loss it will require the market to crash badly.

Yes, I could have doubled up my position by selling them high's and picking up again at a low point. But if you believe in the coin then holding it for long-term helps for maximising gains.

Careful. These last six months have been unusual in that all the alts went up substantially. However, if we're in a bear market, they all have further to fall, and alts tend to plunge much more than bitcoin in percentage terms.

BTC i worthy to hold and to invest than Atls. Btc much higher value increase than eth and most of altcoins not recover on there price thats why i believe if we get are target price in Eth we need to trade are alts.

Not selling alts means we don't know what we are doing? what kind of thinking is that lol  Cheesy
there are so many alts that beaten bitcoin not in terms of price but the percentage increase, clearly bitcoin has a large trading volume compared to most coins but the potential of big profits will always be in alts and remember that.

I think indeed the bitcoin price increase affects altcoin prices, but I think the most influential is from the internal side of the altcoin, the active development team work will have a very positive impact on an altcoin.

I disagree. I think if your'e not buying coins at this price you don't know what you're doing.. If you walked into the store and an item you were looking to buy was 75% off, would you not buy it? You would.. You would say "Wow! that's a really good deal". It should be the same with altcoins right now.

You better start believing and be patience. Holding alt coins is far much better idea than selling it just to minimize  your losses. You won't gain anything by selling it why not leave it there? We all know how crypto works. Once in a while crypto shines on a certain time and everyone is waiting for that time.

There is no rush in selling off all my alt coins, there are some decent projects which i invested,i am not telling all the alt coins are perfect but some are good projects and i really do think that it will give me better profit than investing in bitcoin at the moment,my ultimate aim is to hold bitcoin and i do hold some, but that does not mean that you cannot take opportunity in making some good profit with these new projects.

If the losses will I get, then I will not sell my assets.
I'm sure alt will rise, but not everything and the most important thing shitcoin will die.

Shitcoin is of course will die because nobody want it so no big community support shitcoin.
If you know this, dont ever invest in shitcoin. I know all with risk but choosing the right one can make our chance to win is much bigger.

I still think it is great to have some alts. It is nice to see BTC go up in value but also good to get in an alt rally when BTC is doing the same. Alot of alts looked like they did 100x last year. That was because they would 10x while BTC was >10x

Look like bitcoin failed to break $12000 again and now just hold your alt bitcoin will going down again. Probably it will move at range $8000 - $11000 for months or we will see $6000 again in couple of months. I hope it will not happen but so far its what chart said to me.

The recent fall in market prices does not make altcoin lose its value, as time goes by with altcoin price movements will recover. even in the near future bitcoin prices continue to increase, no doubt the value of altcoin will again raise its price to follow bitcoin price movement.
then I will continue to wait for the recovery of altcoin value rather than having to sell it for loss.

Well since bitcoin is slowly increasing back again and obviously altcoins will be dumping too, it would be best to hold on to your altcoins and if you have budget for your investment buy more altcoins to diversify your investment. Just sell your altcoins once bitcoin becomes stable around a certain price and altcoins will increase back again so you'll have no losses.

Bitcoin is going up and taking back the lost market dominance. Now, I doubt it will go beyond 50%.. but if we get back to 800 bill market, that's 400 bill for BTC.
But selling alts now, at the lows make no sense. The right moment was a month ago, all you can do now is wait for another alt cycle.

Be patient, because Bitcoin is now up. So, a lot of Altcoin prices are down. If later bitcoin has stabilized, hopefully Altcoin will follow to rise the price.
that's really what I expect, hope altcoin will follow the price increase after this. stick with your coins and believe they will rise.
perhaps it will follow after .but i think the good idea for now while some of alts is falling on this bitcoin circumstances, is to switch to another alt and besides there are some altcoin that is tend also to rise maybe much better to sell and convert it if you worrying on this scenario.

Why should I? If alts were at loss I wont sell my coins and wait for it to bounce back. Yes bitcoin is well-established and many users are trusting and investing but I think we dont need to choose where we should invest our money rather diversify your crypto portfolio so you wont miss their price surge. But make sure the alts you're holding has a great potential and not likely to be delisted in exchanges.

correct. There shouldn't be any need for people to choose one or the other. Luckily, you can invest in both bitcoin and alts without losing your peace of mind. Alts will gain more dominance and stability this year.

I'm in it for the long run. Can't be bothered with the ups and downs of BTC.

Yes, to make the most money short term it would be better to move to BTC whenever BTC goes up (fast). Or to fiat when BTC goes down. But maybe this will not stay this way. Serious projects will always have whales, but also more and more people that are in it for the long run. I sure hope a lot of the great project with lots of potential are able to shake loose from BTC.

Deal Coin - P2P Lending Eco-system
Bitcoin is going up too fast, it's normal for altcoin to drop in sat value but the price is the same in USD value. This is what happened the last time bitcoin pumped to 20 k, but after that Bitcoin dropped and all the money went to altcoins, the cycle is going to repeat this time too. I am going to keep holding my alts and when for BTC to go sideways, I think we will see a big alt pump after that.

And it did.
Altcoins will surely recover after bitcoin's price becomes guarenteed to stay above 10k dollars, I am expecting some money to flow ethereum and many erc20 tokens.
