All my wife's United miles + a portion of mine sold to a member of this forum. The rest of the UA Mileage Plus miles are tentatively committed to another forum user.

I am not entertaining additional offers. Please do not make any offers for these United miles.

Remaining miles available: my wife's Emirates account (for those flying to Dubai or destinations served by Emirates).

Hey there,

Can you give me a BTC price for First/Business Class DCA to LHR, no more than 1 stop, 30 days out from today (subject to change), any day of the week out and back, 7-9 day stay. Obviously, you buy the ticket for miles in my name.

Probably PM is the best way to handle this, if you are interested.

Thank you for the offer.

Return date is retro-adjustable to April 4 or 5 (or even 6 and 7). Queried a multi-day systemwide availability and did a shot on the 16th. Earlier days are available for the LHR-DCA flight segment as shown in the second of three uploaded images on the imgur link I provided above.

First class tends to be more flexible as not many have the (financial and mileage) resources to book them. Plus Premier 1K members (of which my wife and I are members) are entitled to less restrictive capacity controls.

I might be interested in some of your miles.

How would this work? Can you transfer the miles or something, or would you send a redeemable voucher?

How many miles counts for, say, a round trip, domestic US flight?

Typically, for a round trip saver award ticket, you will need 25K miles. This applies to domestic flights within the 48 contiguous U.S. states. For flights ex-U.S. gateway airports bound for Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean destinations, Mexico etc you would be looking at 30 to 35K miles. Higher mileage figures apply for flights to South America and of course for destinations across both the Atlantic and Pacific. This is for economy class. Gateway airports are, typically, ORD SFO JFK DFW EWR SFO BOS and a few more.

If flying business and first class, expect to use more miles.

You appear to be selling for <1/3 what you will be paying UA to do the transfer.

"There is a cost of US $0.015 per mile and the processing fee per transaction is $30."

To address and resolve that issue, I very rarely transfer, in fact I almost always decline transfer requests. Processing and transfer fees only apply if miles are moved from one account to another. There is no fee if or when tickets are booked directly on my account.

There is also the issue of seat availability so for those interested I must first check your itinerary and contemplated travel dates against the airline's capacity controls.

I used to have miles but used them up for my son's travels. There is no fee if tickets are booked on the account where those miles were accrued originally. The transfer fee applies only when you transfer miles to another Mileage Plus account.

This selling rate is good but remember there are taxes to be paid additionally, although not much.

Transferring miles is a really shitty offer, but it might be possible to just use them to buy someone else a ticket.

Well, I kinda just did a little searching, and this is what i found with transferring miles:

http://www.ualmiles.com/TM_FAQ.jsp

Apparently he can transfer 100k/year. Each account can receive 25k/year, but it must be transferred in 1,000m increments. And the recipient has to register for MilagePlus (which is free).

Need United Airlines miles? Selling mine for 0.01 BTC @ Bitstamp rate for every 1K miles. Wife has miles too so if you are one of those who enjoy flying in style (business or first class) these miles are one of the most cost-effective ways to travel without breaking the bank.

Escrow is fine.

437,461 miles available.

United Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance group of airlines. As such, their frequent flyer programs work interoperably and systemwide. What this means is miles earned on flights operated by any of the member airlines can be used to book award tickets for flights operated by other airlines within the Star Alliance airline network. You can fly with Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines and other Star Alliance operators. Google "star alliance" for a list of these airlines.
