Most of the time the reason why people are being scammed is because of greediness.
The objective that is built on their mind was to earn high even on a small span of time.
Falling into sweet offers of the fraudsters. This is why knowledge is very important thing to have.

Stay calm and do not let emotions to bring you down.
Stay safe and away from scammers and hacking by getting knowledge, study how to become more secured in the internet and do not give your trust easily.

Ignorance usually hinders every task Ignorant people are more likely to fail Therefore we must try to overcome ignorance Research analysis will not be able to do any work properly Ignorant people are more likely to be hacked. If they think of earning without knowing the source of any work and join without verifying any site then they fall prey to scams and lose everything You have to learn first and try to overcome ignorance by gaining knowledge only then you can be saved from scams.

Ignorance kills the zeal of learning, making users and many newbies thinking ways of earning quick, ignorance is the source of failure, and sometimes resulting to being scammed, duped because earning quik is major priority agenda.

But newbies are the one who are responsible with their own learning.

They are the one who can determine which is the right and which is the wrong, they can learn how to determine between the fake and legit, it is on their own decision if they will maximize their ability to become aware about how scams and hacks occur.

Greediness is also factor of getting scam and having loss in crypto markets somehow related to ignorance.

All of us experiences greediness, but it takes a lot of time and it takes a patience for a person to remove greediness on his attitude.
There's no easy money here in this world and you should not be attracted or lured by these scammers especially in cryptocurrency.

Fake giveaway, ICO, Ponzi scheme these are not ignorance, the victims of such scams are greedy people.

These are the most commonly used strategies by the scammers to lure their victim. Making a title that uses "GIVEAWAYS", "FREE MONEY", and etc., are very suspicious and as much as possible, look for a proof if they are legit, but probably it is not, so report it immediately so other people will become also aware about the scams that you saw in some sites.

2. Ignorance and greediness make some people to invest on ICO and on a pumped project but later lose.
I really don't think it's greed per se that makes people partake in ICO. In the past I did a lot (and so were many others) because I felt those ICOs had meaningful projects and would follow their roadmaps and WHs. But now we know better. Even till date, there are lots of people who innocently still think the way I thought a few years ago. So, basically it's ignorance on this point and not greed.

6. Ignorance makes people use public WiFi to even use it to open there bitcoin wallet.
This is a dangerous thing to do. I believe those who do it think they're playing smart and conserving their own data while browsing freely. They should always remember that free or cheap stuff can be dangerous too. @7 and 8 are occasioned by pure greed. The returns promised are always what lures the victims. I have no sympathy for those who fall prey here.

All the same, nice compilation OP!

One of the worst crime one can commit against one's self is to be ignorant on the path you choose to walk and yet you fail to research or ask questions as you journey ahead. Your always a victim of all that crosses your path, things that could be avoided instead of experienced. Yes you can always start afresh but, if an unfavourable situation can be avoided with some caution, it's best you take caution.

I think ignorance is not the main reason why people get scam or hack because greed is the main reason why they get easily scammed that all they think is to earn money easily, which there is no such thing that earning money would be easy. Even there are scam projects that are too good to believe, they still fall into it that they don't think the consequences before they engage in scam projects or other illegal schemes.

Fake giveaway, ICO, Ponzi scheme these are not ignorance, the victims of such scams are greedy people. Because they can't control their greed by seeing tempting advertisements which results they fall into a big scam.
Most scams are usually too good to be true yet people still get involved with them. Just as you said, greed plays a vital role in such participation. I have friends who are currently patronizing ponzi schemes. The thing is, they know fully well that it's a scam and that, it will eventually come to an abrupt end yet they participate. These days, people just need money and don't care how it comes. That's why we will always have victims of scams. As long as people still have greed, scammers can feed on it.

There are many people out there who know that this website is a scam website, but even they investing in all these websites, they think this website will be running for at least a few days in which I will make profit. But the results are bad, because before he can withdraw his funds, the website scams his money. And the number of ponzi scheme websites has increased a lot due to having such investors like them.

Scams are not just one way. There are lots of ways to scam people on online. If you want stay away from scams the you need to understand how to detect scams. Fake giveaway, ICO, Ponzi scheme these are not ignorance, the victims of such scams are greedy people. Because they can't control their greed by seeing tempting advertisements which results they fall into a big scam.

Those who are involved in pumps and dumps they know nothing about the market and trading, it is their failure to get involved without knowing anything. Sad but true, a large number of people are still falling into such scams.

Ignorance of something is very dangerous for you and other people, Like we have on social media some scammers spread a pyramiding scheme to invest with Ethereum. They are targeting those people that has no knowledge about cryptocurrency, commonly house wives with no work at these pandemic, they even approach my mother, I was surprise she is talking about Ethereum, Good thing I prevented it. Also, when in terms of investing your money don't invest right away, wait for feedback first, just like what happen on recent hack on twitter of course many people will invest because it is coming from the official account but we need to be careful more than that, good thing I was very obserbant and I wait for feedback first.

Some people do not know that they are ignorant, because they listen to other people's advice without doing on their own research, and this is the highest kind of ignorance if you are listening to many people without coming out with your own decision, you can listen to other people but you must come out with your own decision and respect whatever the outcome.

People must learn how to detect scams, and sadly the only way they learn is by getting scammed.
Getting scammed could be one of the ways to teach people not to get scammed again but some people can still be scammed after ones be scammed. The only best way to avoid scam is to read about scam, ways to hack wallets and also how to avoid. Knowledge and wisdom about scam is the best teacher. Like me, I have not been scammed before and I do no think I would be scammed at all just I learned a lot about scam and how to avoid which is the best in avoiding scam.

Sometimes i ask to my self, is it really on my hands to teach people about how to use bitcoin by the safe way? and i don't think so, each user has to learn by its own experience.

In fact, 8 points that define ignorance are not enough. Those who come to crypto must have good patience. By acquiring knowledge, we shield ourselves from mistakes. Large profits seduce people, and they, out of their fervor, invest in many scam projects. But sometimes life teaches us a good lesson. Once we have lost something, we begin to act correctly and learn from mistakes.

All the point you've mentioned not only applies to newbies but also to ranking members, scammers are cunning and very innovative, they always create or invest a new scheme or ways to scam people, investors bounty hunters those who are into gambling and airdrops can be a victim of scamming if they are not careful on what they dealing.

Well wrote OP, although ignorance isn't the only reason it's one of the important reasons why we get scam. Most scam cases happen due to greedy behavior and to become quick rich. The quick rich method is one of the most dangerous reasons for the scam. Wherever we see some greedy offer we jump on it without conclusions. Some scam happens due to lack of enough knowledge, to be honest, I meet with PONZI word after joining on this forum. Before that, I wasn't aware of Ponzi even I was an investor of the rev-share scam at the beginning (I wasn't into bitcoin that time). No one explained to me about this ponzi scam because of their referral commissions. So it's more important to learn from such as forum and nearest friends. Ignorance scam could happen when you know something but you get scam due to carelessness.

However, I believe there are two types of ignorance. One is that which is easily surmountable. The other is that which takes more than a little amount of effort and time to get addressed. The latter could be considered forgivable but never the former.

The sad thing about a lot of people falling victims to various crypto scams is that they could have avoided them altogether had they just exerted a little effort to do due diligence. Many of these victims could have prevented what happened to them if only they used a little amount of common sense.

Newcomers often have to face a technological learning curve, besides learning how to build a wall of defences against scams and such. This is when one is particularly weak and exposed, and the best one can hope for is for a quick learning curve with prudence at the core.
Also, completely not seeking ROI, or a means to make money whilst that learning curve goes on will do a great job, if you do not send out money (to scammers) you do not lose any of it right, if as a newcomer, you ardently are only out to strengthen your knowledge, and put a strong foot on the learning ropes, imo, you'll be just fine. Then by the time considerations on ROI and other whatnots regarding it starts to rise up in your head, you can no longer be a victim to the scammers.

Knowledge is power, without it you are nothing.

You are prone to hack or scam if you are ignorant because you are more likely an easy target for scammers and hackers.
But no one become perfect instantly, we do it by practicing which would improve our knowledge and most especially if we learn from our mistakes.
I have some experience that I was hack and scammed as well, but gladly I was able to take it, now I keep learning because I know that we are in the crypto space where considered a high risk market, without knowledge you lose.

NEVER ENTER INTO CRYPTO WHEN YOU ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH KNOWLEDGE.

You'd get scammed the exactly same way if you were to go on Craigslist right now and get rich out of nowhere. You'd look for amazing deals and you would most likely get scammed in the end.

All people really need is common sense. Have you ever felt the need to double someone's money randomly? If yes, how would you do it? Would it make any sense to ask the other party to send you money in order to send them the double, or is it an unnecessary step?

Common sense. Ask yourself as many questions as possible and, if in the end it sounds even a bit sketchy, move on.

Finally, a member who is aware of scam and hacks, nowadays we cannot deny that there are a lot of people are still one of the victims of scams and hacks even we already told them to take care and make background research about to those platforms they don't really know, but we cannot blame them because some of their mindset are getting too much greedy to make more income and there is no easy money right now. @OP if you find out some platform that is risky to the other members better to report immediately to our scam accusation board as cryptoaddictchie gave.

drop it here: scam accusation board

why the way they talk is so effective

Well, they are good at sales talking some of their basic moves are first, getting the trust of their victims, second let them win their first investment on the platform and finally get their trust again to make investment more and this is the scams will happen. Even there are a lot of victims and told already that this is a scam or hack they always fall on those traps.

I’m with @pooya87 on this one. Ignorance is not the sole driver. On its own, ignorance (as in don’t know enough/do not master rather than lack of culture) would not lead people to fall for some of the listed pitfalls, but rather the main driver is likely gullibility, combined with a hasty urge to get something practically out of thin air. Of course the more versed one becomes, the less likely to fall for these traps, so concurrent factors are rather entangled.

Newcomers often have to face a technological learning curve, besides learning how to build a wall of defences against scams and such. This is when one is particularly weak and exposed, and the best one can hope for is for a quick learning curve with prudence at the core.

in most cases it is not so much ignorance but greed and desperation combined with gullibility.
for example the case with all ICOs and their derivations like STO, IEO,..., the altcoin pumps, the Ponzi schemes and more are because the gullible newcomers want to make money but cannot do it because they don't understand how the market works and how useless these things are. so it is easy for them to fall for the false promises and pretty designs and big fake numbers.
We also should consider that the scammers are smooth operators, now what I mean by that is that most of them will sweet talk you to go ahead and try their scams, this kind of people are very good with their words and they play with emotions rather beautifully, this also is another thing that you should consider, if the guarantor is sugarcoating their words then that is a red flag, the other thing why the way they talk is so effective is because they know what they are doing and they know the mechanisms behind the scam that they are selling which makes them more convincing. There are also a type where they guilt trip you into joining their scam, they try to target your negative emotions like guilt or sometimes manipulate you which is very dangerous and undetectable if if was performed correctly, be careful out there, if they try to play or use your emotion then that is a red flag.

I was so thankful to be one of the members of this forum, I would have been scammed or my wallet would have hacked. I have learned may things about this cryptocurrencies. I just want to appreciate this that this forum is very useful and led me to crest this topic most especially for people who are not on this forum that browsed about it using google search engine because it can or may not be new to most people on this forum, but it is very possible new members are included to learn from this thread I started.

1. I have seen seen someone that was decoyed by a fake lover on social medial to send bitcoin to a given address but was actually a same, ignorance makes them to believe who they never know.
2. Ignorance and greediness make some people to invest on ICO and on a pumped project but later lose.
3. Ignorance make some people back up their wallet seed phrase on device they use, if the device is damaged then the seed phrase gone and the wallet and coins on it will be lost.
4. Ignorace makes people to carelessly use the wallet device online and install malware which result to bitcoin and altcoin or the whole wallet loss.
5. Ignorance make people to collect airdrop careless but leading to phishing attack and/or malware installation.
6. Ignorance makes people use public WiFi to even use it to open there bitcoin wallet.
7. Ignorance make people fall for ponzi scheem.
8 ignorance make people decoy to pay certain amount to collect big about to doubler sites and nothing it return and they are scammed.

These are just few, but this forum made me realized that all we need is to have knowledge about how scammers do their tricks, to avoid them is simple but lack of how to avoid them makes people to be easily scammed, I have blamed many people before but I later understood it is because they know nothing about scam. And lastly, I thank this forum once again for revealing how scammers can try to scam.

Although ignorance resulted to scam but I have to add this comment from Coolcryptovator
