So , another failure of the rt propaganda?

The first sighting of the helicopter with UN label was made not only by the Russian journalists. The Italian and German journalists who were present at that time in Donetsk also reported the same.

And the other syrian helicopter , was it also reported by Italian journalists?

Besides , just because somebody else is wrong , that doesn't make you any better.

Buy a camera and go to Slavyansk to produce some footage.
To be imprisoned by democratic "government"? You know about Turchinov's freedom of press implementation. "You are free to publish anything, but only if we like your stuff" Cheesy

Nothing because based on the pics it's not an UN helicopter that was shot down Smiley.

But it is clear that the Ukrainian authorities had earlier used a helicopter painted as UN, to bomb the residential areas of Donbass. The pictures of the helicopter were widely circulated in the social media.

Un monitors have been deployed on march 14th.

The UN says that there are no monitors there, and there are no media reports about them either. Could you provide some links to prove your claims? I still doubt whether they will be stationed in front-line cities such as Slavyansk.

Following the release of the report produced by her 34-member monitoring team in Ukraine, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay called on “those with influence on the armed groups responsible for much of the violence in eastern Ukraine to do their utmost to rein in these men who seem bent on tearing the country apart.”

Funny how no longer than two weeks ago you were criticizing the same report as being biased  Smiley))

Didn't they use this same trick on Saddam? In fact it is a commonly known ploy to insert international forces with or without local consent. (btw just because  I used the word saddam doesn't mean I support him either)

It doesn't have to be peacekeepers but just UN monitors like those for human rights. And they were deployed in Ukraine for over a month.

On 30th May, Ban Ki Moon stated that there are no UN monitors in Eastern Ukraine. He said that right now the only international monitors present in the Eastern Ukraine are from the OSCE. As far as I know, OSCE personnel doesn't use UN transportation.

Quote
The United Nations is deploying a human rights monitoring team throughout Ukraine to help establish the facts surrounding human rights violations, including in Crimea, and de-escalate tensions in the country.

They have never been withdrawn from the country.

The helicopter was illegal or shooting it down was illegal?

We are trying to confirm this. So far, according to the reports which I have got, this is my assumption.

1. The Ukrainian Army some how got hold of an abandoned UN chopper (probably a helicopter leased from the Ukrainian Army by the UN earlier).
2. They used this chopper (without any modification or painting) to bomb the civilian areas.
3. The Donetsk People's Army downed the chopper with MANPADS.

An interesting reading here:

Why not deny it outright?

Here's the video:

I don't know... There is not really much contextual info to go by. Some say it's from Congo from two years back.

The UN  could come out and say that the helicopter was on a normal patrol or carrying god knows what.
It could be the thing they waited for to deploy troops in the region.

UN never conducts helicopter missions without announcing them to the media sources. And in this case, there are no United Nations peacekeepers stationed anywhere in Ukraine.

Moreover UN officially stated their concern when those pictures were first published, distancing themselves from the deployment of that chopper.

But it is clear that the Ukrainian authorities had earlier used a helicopter painted as UN, to bomb the residential areas of Donbass. The pictures of the helicopter were widely circulated in the social media.

If that turns out to be true it will be a big deal. That is a clear violation of international law. If it just turns out that the rebels shot down a random UN heli, that would also be a violation. It's getting confused over there. A sure sign that the war is beginning. In a few years it will all be tears and regret on both sides.

Indeed , never though of this one.

Remember that plane in Libya that started all?

Close to 40% of the population of Slavyansk have fled to the Southern villages and towns. Fierce fighting is ongoing in the Outskirts. Meanwhile, the Donetsk People's Army is claiming that they have captured the pilot of the downed helicopter.

Alex Bukovsky tweeted a few minutes ago that an Ukrainian army helicopter was hit by MANPADS from the Slavyansk militia. It couldn't take off and was left in the field. I am not sure whether this is the same heli.
