Thanks Tyler27, good to be here.

Ajax3592, I'm not really introducing anything other than myself.  We are a proprietary firm, so we only trade our own account and the account of another firm.  My intentions are to do the same in Bitcoin.  However, I'm a bit concerned as the exchanges don't seem very mature at this point.  Seems like a huge market potential for someone.  Smiley

Currently, we are trading in the US Equity and futures market.  I hate to use the term HFT, but some may consider our trading to fall under that category.  Although, we prefer liquidity providers, because we do offer lasting liquidity in both markets.  Currently, in equities, we trade between 2 and 3 million shares per day over 5k to 25k round trips per day.

I don't expect to be able to do that in Bitcoin.  However, the volatility should allow us to do a slower version of our strategies.  Time will tell.  Still have a lot to learn as I'm really new to BTC.

Thanks

I joined the forum a few days ago and thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm pretty new to Bitcoins.  I've been attracted to it for mostly one reason... To trade it.  I've been a professional trader since the late 90's.  Today, I run a small algorithmic trading firm.  I'm a programmer/strategy developer, my partner is a programmer that deals with tools and exchange connections, a third person who puts up with our nonsense, and we are backed by another firm who provides capital for new strategies.  I'm still trying to get a feel for BTC and whether trading them is even realistic for our strategies.  I'm basically trying to absorb as much info as possible through this forum and elsewhere.

Anyway, glad to meet you.  Hope to contribute more soon.
