I have a decent-ish offer on buying a new Antminer S9.

I'm told it's from the Batch 6 January and includes a PSU. $2000.

Want to ensure this is in fact an OK deal(ie anything wrong with that batch), and if there's anything I should know as a (somewhat) n00b to mining.

Thanks!

Hmmm what is batch 6? Wasnt there 2 batches of s9 released for january 2018? I remember it was first week of january and the last week of january delivery. Ive made an order for first batch of january, and kind of worried at the moment. Because bitmain released end of january batch and it seems like its never sold out. When it does it comes right bacm on the market.
So if you want, and sure you are making a purchase, i suggest you goto bitmain website and make your order for alot cheaper right now.
Goodluck!

Still listed on bitmain website for 1415usd s9 13.5th, end of january batch. Alot better price if your interested.

Sorry I actually misread the post last night, late night shift. The Miner is supposedly new from the most recent batch. That price would be good, but does seem suspicious.

Mostly because anyone with a legit miner in new condition is selling them for 2400-3000$ if not more. Do you know the person offering to sell this or is an internet offering?

Your best bet is to keep some funds available to quickly purchase coins the next time an S9 goes on sale from Bitmain.

I don't know the best place to buy any now, I went a different route and ordered Avalons myself.

Thanks for your insight Steamtyme - I too am a n00b (but long-time BTC trader) looking to order an Antminer S9.

While I realize I may be changing subjects and there may be a thread more applicable for my question, I’m finding it challenging to differentiate scam sellers from legit sellers. Any advice for best legit sellers for an S9 around the price range you reference above? (Bitmain itself is sold out.)

Many Thanks,
RLane

I can't speak to the specific batches and what not. You just have to decide if the deal works for you. The miner has about 11 months, plus the burn in period it went through with Bitmain.

Your best bet is to make sure you see it is hashing at full capacity and do your due diligence making sure this is a legit deal. Keep in mind for what you are paying you could order a new S9 for whatever batch they are going to be selling, you just have to wait a 6-8 weeks.

I would personally be trying to get that price down a few 100 dollars.

Good luck
