In order to add a custom token in your myetherwallet.com, you need to put in correct address (address the token website uses) and token name in name field.
The very compulsory field to add in is decemals field. If you do not know what are precise decimals for token you are adding, then it will definitely show error message.
Before you try to add custom token, you must ask the developer of token for it.

how to determine the decimal n costum token, whether there is a formula or benchmark
because I've experienced confusion when wanting to exchange new coins ,,
thanks..

In my case I add BLX  from Iconomi. But BLX is already there and showing 0 balance.
It looks like it is not the sam BLX as Iconomi BLX. That is the reason I have to select other name.

Which token are you trying to add? First of all, double check to make sure it's an ethereum based token. Following the steps in the link provided above should allow you to add it. There's also plenty of videos on youtube going over the steps.

I've tried adding a custom token but it appeared "error: unable to duplicate a custom token". What does it mean? It's my first time adding that token though.
That means you are not following the step correctly, you can try to re input the custom token and are you checking if there is the custom token that already exist in your myetherwallet?
