I admire your tenacity for learning and I think you are way advanced on cryptocurrency compared to many of us here in this forum. But of course, learning is never a destination more of a continuing journey from womb to tomb. having someone guiding us (a mentor) can be one of the best strategies in order to really learn on anything. This is what schools are doing right now. Now, if you can't find someone who is close (maybe a friend) to you that can give you lessons then it can be costing some money to hire a professional mentor...most especially in trading and even in cryptocurrency.

Since you are already a self-taught person why not continue doing so? I mean, there are now so many data, information, sites and videos which you can easily browse and find all the guidance you need. Make it a very good journey of learning and then later on we would be happy if you can then share it here in this forum the things you learned.

Learn to watch the market and observe which coin can potentially grow in matter of weeks, this is something you can learned over time though so if you have been here for 3 years and hasn't got into watching the https://coinmarketcap.com from time to time, start now and see for yourself where they put their money in and join the fun.

It will take us some time before we will be able to learn more about the markets. The way cryptocurrency markets are moving is not sure and we need to wait and watch so that we can get better results from them. I am actually associated with the cryptocurrency markets for over 2 years now and can say that it is the right time to learn about it.

So I've been using bitcoin for about almost 3 years. Around six months ago I decided that I was tired of kicking myself for not investing in it and just hodling. So I set out to learn everything I could about cryptocurrency, the blockchain, and altcoin trading. Everything I've learned has been self taught. Now I feel like I need some mentoring, a big brother, an instructor. What should I do next? If anyone answers my post I'll be more specific about what knowledge I already have. I'll give one example: I'm ready to begin learning how to read charts properly. Any good reccomendations for where to begin? I have many other questions but that one is a good example of where I'm at in my journey for crypto-nirvana.

wow three years might be enough for someone to learn and trust this investment, according to you knowledge about trading will be a big help I guess
trusting your own desired will allow you to keep seeking more about trading and with alts industry patience and an open minded thinking will make you
a better one, I guess the basic of buy low and sell high would be  a good practice then check here inside the ann thread if what influence do the coin
move up or move down. experience will be the best thing in life mate.

There is trouble abrewing
from your comment i can tell your "knowledge" seems to be all over the place! i think you should focus your attention on one thing only or be more clear about what you know and what you want to achieve.

if trading is what you are aiming for then there are already some good answers and i don't want to repeat them. i just want to add that you should remember that things are different in bitcoin market. and when it comes to altcoins things become more different and the smaller that altcoin becomes the bigger that difference will be.

and that difference is the ability to speculate the market. you learn TA and then speculate stocks market for example then you come to bitcoin and see you can apply it there but to less effect.
then you go to altoins and see everything you knew is useless there because it is a small and highly manipulated market. but highly profitable at the same time!

Sounds to me like you are simply at a loss what to do with your life and are most likely at the beginnings of a seriuos bout of depression. I would advise you to seek medical practitioner support. Gud luck.

Something that helps me is reading Satoshi's old posts here look up his account and read them you will get the perspective of the inventor of Bitcoin itself, which makes it a lot easier to understand.
To be a user of bitcoins for 3 years but still just holding them instead of investing has actually shocked me. It’s good to get prepare before taking any step because victory loves preparation but I think you should start trading now. You will learn more when you will be more practical. I also suggest reading Satoshi's posts if you want to get the right information.

If you hold Bitcoin you're already investing in it.

Basics about investing would be good. Understanding economics would help you understand how the play between supply and demand affect the price. Finally, you could do some work to learn about the money supply in the traditional sense (e.g., fractional lending, deflation of currency) and how it can be manipulated. This will help you learn why Bitcoin has such high prospects for appreciation.

This will also help you walk carefully around the numerous ICOs out there...most are smoke and mirrors.

You do not need a mentor but what you need is more experience. Just like you I started to get serious on cryptocurrency three years ago and nobody taught me how to engage in bitcoin or how to trade. I have been making many research how to trade and how to invest bitcoin safely. But one thing I have learned is that those tips that I learned does not really make you rich but your experience will make you an expert. So just do some research and start trading and investing in small amounts when you have a grasp on how the market works then you can now trade in huge amounts.

But if there is one thing I will teach you and it is just to buy bitcoins and hold it. I have been holding some of my satoshis that I saved for a year and right now I have earned hundred dollars from what I claimed from the faucet two years ago.

As everyone is so busy working here, it would be hard to find a mentor that will directly guide you on your next journey or on what you want to learn. As someone have said here you are capable of teaching yourself and that feet have stand countless battles of confusions and doubts. The question is how long can you keep these up. I know that you are more knowledgeable than I am and I don't know how can I keep up to that level. Experience and time is the best teacher, it's good to have a great teacher but for the meantime just do what you can learn online.

at first i thought you were talking about the technical aspect of bitcoin with your title and specially when talking about "learning about blockchain". this is very different from the question you are asking which is trading related.

for that you just have to remember that the basics are still the same as regular trading. you can find a lot of good resources online for that. start there first and then move on to be more specific about bitcoin and the whole different market of altcoins.
i have a couple of bookmarks that have not checked extensively myself but will share it here:

What you need is a mentor for trading, not for cryptocurrencies. From your post I have the impression that you are kicking yourself because you have missed the big moves and profit made by the altcoins a few months ago. Am
I right?

You dont need a mentor, you have already demonstrated you are perfectly capable of teaching yourself. You need a new focus, and there is plenty of that here. You havent even scratched the surface Wink

Learn economics beyond a novice level. this is money, and our ecosystem is a perfect example of certain economic concepts that dont have real world counterparts (deflationary currency, for example)

Learn the programmatic aspects of bitcoin. this escapes me; all that shit is pretty much black magic as far as im concerned.

Learn technical analysis as you said. To be honest it doesnt work so good here, because of the types of investor and the rampant obvious manipulation. But the longer a chart is, if a market is more of less natural, it should help in predicting trends. i promise you, there is a life time of technical analysis to learn.

Learn cryptography. That shit is so deep your mind will melt. I tried, on a quest much like yours. I think I got to salt as a concept instead of a food before I tuned out.

And finally, when you have contemplated the secrets of the bitcoin universe and have transcended...

..explain the Ethereum whitepaper to me  Grin

Class dismissed.
