At what Mhash level would you say that a pool is no longer advisable for bitcoin mining? Or is a pool always a good idea no matter how big you get?
Depends on how long you are willing to wait between possible payouts.

I use mtred - it's a reddit pool. If anyone have better recommendation, feel free to share!

- 1) Get a wallet. You can do this via Coinbase or the standard method.
- 2) Find a pool to start out in. Most people start out at Slush's Pool.
- 3) Set up a worker on your pool(s).
- 4) Configure your miner (cgminer, bfgminer, GUIminer, etc.) to connect to your pool, using your worker credentials
- 5) Wait a while. Wait a while, and wait some more. Try to upgrade your hardware, and then wait some more.

buy them from an exchange or otc
