FUDding something does not get discredited. It will be reported depending on the severity but then again more shills will arrive.

But you don't understand because it's me around here that's being called the troll and shill because I point out that Bitcoin has gone
bad as if you need telling after miners ripped us off for $55 in transaction fees a few months ago.

I offer reasoned debate to back up what i am saying, no hit and run and the FUD i am seeing is coming from paid agents here
all with lots of brown nose merit points talking bullshit like "Can the world live without Bitcoin"

Just want a level playing field I do and not "he's a homophobic" because I bat on the right side.

considering you as a MOD, well, I think it's not that bad if you became one, but still many members will fall into misery as they've been put into ignore by you Smiley

Wot you mean like a mod that does not give a shit ? Like I am all for it, too many people around here have vested interests so where do we vote.

In my opinion, images are fine provided they add something to the conversation. GIFs are pretty borderline - they take much longer to load via TOR or some VPNs, they are awkward to view on some mobile devices, and they generally get in the way of the conversation, especially when they add absolutely nothing like you did here.

Just a friendly word of warning - I (and several others) have certainly ignored people for excessive GIF use.

It's even worse when posters include the images in quotes. That really slow things down.

This is quite a new information for me. Never thought of getting slow and stuffs. To me GIFs are always fun nothing at all.

I also thought this too, As for me its a funny thing that Images are included to some posts especially GIF Memes.

And For you JET CASH I think that they've been judging you based on how you post and also for the reason that you're quite active on this Forum, that's why many members are considering you as a MOD, well, I think it's not that bad if you became one, but still many members will fall into misery as they've been put into ignore by you Smiley

All this fancy analysis of the merit system is great. Hopefully it will cut down merit abuses, but it can also be used to highlight deficiencies in board moderation and spam abuse.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
Clearly the merit system is being abused here and it goes back to needing points to run adverts in page footer with the
space being limited by byte size being rewarded by merits and I have noticed myself that some poster here are running more
than one account, talking FUD just to keep awarding themselves brown nose points.
Welcome to bitcointalk and welcome to the internet in general. Grin

Years ago I tripped up ebay because whole gangs were selling each other feedback so maybe I should point some code at this
site and publish the results for all to see.
Paid feedback also happens on this site. It is not moderated and thus many people give feedback for different reasons some of which may be paid as well. Though some get caught many others dont.

I guess the reason is they always see you active (almost in most of the topics) on the forum. I remember long ago an advice you left for me on one of my post since then I closely followed you. Later I realised that I was one of the ignored member of you ignore list but still I was following you (It's obvious because of your presence).

You really love putting images to most of your posts do you?  Grin I've encountered you quite a few times and I must say that through all those encounters, most of your replies has an image to it. Anywas, I also find it quite annoying especially if the image included is not needed to express opinions. On the other hand, I had a good laugh at one of the images you made I think, where you included TMAN or Jet Cash if I am not mistaken with the avengers meme.

If you are trying to look through 50 or so post in 10 or 15 minutes, having to scroll through images and blocks of hard to read text really slows you down. The temptation is to quit the thread, and then all the following posters lose the chance of merits, or put the image poster on ignore. I do use images sometimes - the exploding melons for example - but only when I think the thread is a fun thread, rather than a serious discussion.

I've started a thread about creating quality posts on Fit to Talk, and I must finish that. For example. how many people use the post title when making a post? It's far better than including an oversized bold line at the top of your post.

I'm wondering if there are any statistics of reports to moderator, like between ranks or a list of top users that report.

It must have been because of the images. Smiley

I was about to say the same thing.

If anybody thinks they are on my ignore list, and wants to appeal, then This is the link to my ticketing system.

No spam please. This is strictly for appeals for the Jet Cash ignore list. I suspect the next stage is to publish the list with reasons for the ignore.

Several members have sent me PMs to report various frauds and abuses of merit.  I'm not a mod, DT or staff member, just an ordinary Hero who talks about his ignore list. I have started a private chat room to talk to a few senior members, but it isn't really suitable for discussing individual cases. If you have discovered a suspected  abuse of the forum, then there are a number of effective actions you can take.

- Report a post to a moderator.
- Post a link and comments including proof in one of the scammer reporting threads here in Meta.
- Sending a PM to a DT may not be the best action, they are pretty busy, and may miss your message.
- Put the suspects on your ignore list so that you don't give them any sMerit.
