I'm interested in trying to trade then I've created an account at one of the exchange sites. I choose poloniex, is it safe if I keep my funds there?

No any exchange platforms and web wallets are safe to store your cryptos but if you like to hold your cryptos in those wallets, don't forget to activate 2FA in your accounts. Talking about poloniex, they are good for altcoin trading due to huge volume they have and they are known for having high level of security so you can keep some of your funds there and remaining in safer place like hardware/paper wallet.

You do not control the private keys of the wallet in exchanges and they can be attacked or hacked just like what happened to bitfinex. In those cases, you cannot protect your bitcoin. That is why it is not advised to leave your bitcoins on exchanges for a long time.

Will it two factor authentication is also will let the bitcoin screw by the hackers?
I was having many time my fund in the localbitcoins wallet none of the coins has been looted by any hackers at anytime. May once in the moon we may get hacked, even big IT firms are also been hacked by the bitcoin user recently.

there's no assurance that our money can be safe inside any exchange platform as we knew that there's still possibility that we will be hack or the exchange itself will be hacked the good thing to do is make sure that you have all the security from your account if possible use the 2fa verification to make sure that inside the exchange your btc will be safe.

i don't think if our money will safe at any exchanges because exchanges is only third parties who can run our money without any notification so never keep your money at third party wallet, better to keep money on the private wallet
