Also bear in mind that after achieving the one merit requirement and the required activity count to post images, or after purchasing copper membership, you would still have to switch to BBcode when posting images on bitcointalk, that way the image appears directly, without linking back to imgur.

Thank goodness the restriction is there. That is a completely useless image, and it is oversized. Posting it would destroy the thread in my opinion, and would probably get you placed on a few ignore lists. That would stop you getting merits from awarders who ignore you.

When I try to put an image in a post (by pasting the direct imgur link between the IMG brackets) it does not show the image in the post, but instead just the imgur link, as seen below:
