I fail to see why any of that would happen. As 51ay3r pointed out there will always be a need, albeit with a different name.

We will always need banks for financial services: loans, mortgages, etc.  Establishing decentralized ones with BTC may be interesting however.

I believe ripple does exactly that. I am not sure though. any thoughts?

The sooner the banks are gone the better. I've spent too much of my fiat on bank charges/fees/bailouts

Wallet services have already started to spring up all over the web. Banks need to evolve or die.

I think banks will fight bitcoin usage heavily.

Bitcoin doesn't exactly meet those criteria.
