Hi

I regularly import exported keys into multibit. You just have to export the file on Android, copy it to your PC and then use the import feature from multibit. There is a password field where you enter your password and afterwards click on unlock. Then the import should be no problem.

Thanks. I wouldn't have tried again if not for you comment. The client on android saved the file without an extension. Multibit doesn't interpret the file correctly unless the extension is "*.key". Renamed the file, now it works.

I've been exclusive on linux for the past decade, so I'm used to other heuristics determining the file type regardless of extension.

I actually tried this when switching wallets from android only to blockchain.info and lost all my bitcoins. The backup file gave the new wallet a bad address with a 0 balance. Anyone got a workaround?

it's really easy with blockchain.info (import) or inputs (https://inputs.io/sweep)

I setup a bitcoin wallet using Bitcoin Wallet on android tranfered some BTC over. The app has the ability to import/export your private key(s). When you export, it makes you encrypt them with a passphrase. (I have uninstalled the app and successfully restored my wallet by importing my key and resetting the blockchain, so I know the private key is exporting successfully)

I'd like to import my key to any desktop app. So far I've played around with Multibit, Armory, and the official bitcoin-qt, but I can't seem to figure out how to import the key. Both Multibit and Armory seem to offer the feature, but neither seems to recognize what Bitcoin Wallet is exporting.

Anyone have any success with this?
