The tendency to show off bitcoin because most of them were poor the previous day so they are aggressive, not those who have been rich for a long time because I believe they are more private.
It is possible, and I think it is very possible. The nouveau riche are more likely to show off than the real rich, their reasons will vary but of course these kinds of things are never good. Some do it to prove to others that they are capable or successful, but unknowingly it only creates unforeseen risks.

Especially in the crypto space, everyone is expected to take good care of their financial privacy. Create a sense of security for yourself by maintaining financial privacy, and thus you will sleep better without having to think about the threats that lurk you. But if not, you may have to hire some bodyguard to provide that sense of security if you have a lot of assets in crypto.

The rules of the game are quite clear in this space, "you're the sole determinant of the extent to which your privacy is maintained". However, because some people think that wealth is a pride that must be shown, they don't pay much attention to it, especially since the crime rate isn't too high in their area.
Some folks have that wrong mentality of showing off their wealth and they unknowingly attract criminals to themselves, Cryptocurrency investment is a highly privacy investment and the goal is not to look rich, but to be rich.
Keep your wealth private and never share any vital investment information with anyone even if there is a low crime rate.

Erasing traces because stealing bitcoins is 100 times easier than stealing a lambo, and you may never think that the thief is someone close to you. If I have 1 BTC and I have a Lamborghini car, do you think I should hide my car or btc?, There is no distinction between assets, all types of valuable assets can be hacked or stolen. If you just want to use it as an example to remind people of bragging, I agree. But if you say it's a true story I don't believe it.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
This could happen to someone holding a lot of fiat or a lot of precious metal commodities or a lot of well performing stocks - what makes bitcoin so special? It can happen with any asset out there.

But the scary thing is that often people we know are there, being greedy of someone else and attempting to steal from them. How much you tell others about your earnings is completely your choice.

In this context, I would like to advice people to not tell exact invested amounts to people whom you might be trying to coach about crypto. This is often done by name to gain trust but it can backfire like the above.

I don’t see the difference here to other valuebal assets for example an expensive painting. If you have it and people know it will always be a risk. Still basically everyone that you see on the street has some money etc. that can be stolen and it still does not result in a lot of stealing.

It is always the security issue when it comes to money.  Others coveting your holdings and planning and doing nefarious thing just to take it from you.  So privacy is really very important so if ever we have a good amount of crypto in our position, we should be careful and not let others know our holdings because the possibility of getting an idea to stole our crypto is always there

I think this is about financial literacy. A smart person will never share his financial condition with anyone.

Don't you think letting your wife and relatives or even parents know about it is more dangerous?
It should be something secret to you only maybe your keys and phrase can be kept where it could be accessible by them or your wife only but nothing telling them the exact amount you have in your investment.
This is a serious lesson because as a bitcoiner and having such amount of bitcoin without being hidden is very bad as attack may come anytime from people which don't want you to succeed.

OP all I can say is that they weren’t very good ‘friends were they. 3 bitcoin really isn’t that much, it’s quite sad that people would ruin a friendship over money, especially an amount that whilst no joke, is not exactly lottery style amounts.

A true friend should be able to tell friends that he has some bitcoin & enjoys trading crypto currency.

My friends know my involvement but they have not kidnapped me, not yet any way haha.

Not all people are the same.  You are lucky you have good natured friend.  But not all people have friends like yours.  So it is still better to be safe than sorry.  Better to keep our finances in any form secret from prying eyes.  People will ignore when it is a small amount but we can never tell if the amount is huge.  We have seen lots of news already about friends committing crime just to get the victims money.  And even the earlier reply give us link on an incident where a person is being kidnapped just to extort him of his Cryptocurrency holdings.
I agree with this since stuff like our own finances should be kept secret to anyone. If you are just basically starting to own some Bitcoin or money then better keep it to yourself because not every person you met are happy or like to have you some money or having a better life than them.

Don't just be too carefree too much since we never know who was planning something bad for us. Trust me, it's for the better although, there are people that I know would show their investment sheet but never their bank books.
Never ever make yourself to be that careless when it comes to your own security and into your family. Its true that when we do talk about money then everyone could possibly change up.

They would really be trying out to stole or make bad things just to get those money in posession. You arent that dumb on letting others to know on how much you do hold.
Just like on what others been saying that its better to make yourself secretive on what you do hold and what you do earn.
You are opening yourself on possible life threatening situation if you do keep on doing this.

So the lesson here is to never tell anyone exact amount you hold. You can inform just one member like your parents or wife about this so that they can recover the funds in case anything happens to you but never tell this information to casual friends or distant relatives.
Or, never tell anything at all that may involve money, trust no one. I even rarely tell my wife how much I own but she's not the persistent one so it's fine for both of us in the end. Not everyone was really happy with what they got, others get jealous or they have others intent bad behind you.
Exactly, just keep it to yourself and stay low key. You cannot hold an assurance that those people who know your crypto hodlings will also never tell it to their family and friends. And that’s where negative plans for you might be formed. That’s why disclosing too much personal informational is never good at all even if you’re with closest friends and relatives as they can always make a bad move against you if they badly needed money.

So let me share a real incident with all of you that happened two months before in India. There was a businessman and he used to own some crypto for trading and also as an investment. His friends came to know about exact amount he had which was quite big amount in my country. It happened because he casually mentioned it to them and showed them his investment and profit.

Now these friends made a plan and kidnapped him and then asked him to trasfer all the crypto to their wallets. It was about 3 BTC in total. But the good thing was that he escaped them and then told police about all this and the funds were recovered. But he could might have lost his life and all the crypto because of this incident.

So the lesson here is to never tell anyone exact amount you hold. You can inform just one member like your parents or wife about this so that they can recover the funds in case anything happens to you but never tell this information to casual friends or distant relatives.
You cant easily trust up everyone when it comes to money even some people are really that too paranoid even trusting family members which i do really felt out sometimes with this kind of vibe

which the only one i could trust up with is myself. When you do deal up with crypto holdings or even with fiat in speaking with your business and the profits made.
Then you are just simply trying to look yourself to put on big trouble or danger considering that everyone could really abduct or kidnapped you and ask out on your wallet
information.I wasnt so sure about telling it to your family members for recovery, considering that crypto transactions are irreversible which means that
on the time it was sent then there's no way on recovering it out.Just be quiet on what you are dealing with specially if it do talks about money.
You cant just easily trust up even with your closest friend or whatsoever.

I had to tell everyone later on that i left crypto world. Yet here i am here on BTC forum.

Money is your worst enemy if you have bad friends. This post shows us that. Be safe guys.

When it comes to money, we should be discrete to others about it.  We must know that when it comes to finance people become paranoid especially those who have vices and ill-intention.  We should keep our holdings private and secret.  There are lots of instances that friends turned rogue and do bad things to their friends when it involves money, even couples are not exempted.  I have heard lots of news about partners getting murdered because of insurance claims.   This simply states one thing.  Never trust anyone or confides to anyone if you have holdings of cryptocurrency.

I have a feeling that I read a similar or even the same story on this forum recently. Nevertheless, that's applicable in every aspect of life; be modest and avoid showing off your wealth. Not only does it make you look arrogant, but it also makes you a target in situations like the one explained here. On top of that, the topic of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies attracts a lot of questions when being brought up in conversations and may also be perceived as bragging by others. Thus, I generally refrain from mentioning cryptocurrencies to people with whom I don't feel comfortable.

in my country when someone asks me about bitcoin i always tell him the basics and i don't say anything about me and the bitcoin i have, i prefer the person to buy and hold, so i teach him only how to buy and do hodl and the risks of losing everything and I tell you to do more google research, the problem with that in my view is that when they lose money they tend to blame the person who pointed them out or taught them that's why I stopped talking about bitcoin in my country, even when the person comes with desperation and asks me I don't tell him anything. In my country, saying a large amount would be the same as asking to be kidnapped, I just told my family. I even admire some people who keep posting luxury on social networks, it looks like they are not afraid of being kidnapped and killed

Money is a very sensitive thing, they will not know friends, relatives or even family. There is a saying that "money is the sharpest breaker" be it with friends, relatives or even the closest family members. So it is not recommended to say the exact value of the money we have, be it in cash or in the form of assets, in this case bitcoin or altcoin. I hardly say what the exact total is in my investments, and if anyone asks me what my total assets are, I'll be joking. This is my way of protecting myself personally from things that are not desirable as the OP said for example. Because we don't know what other people think of us, it's not our negative thoughts about them, but rather anticipating things we don't want.

One has to be very careful when someone else is asking about assets or earnings. Like if some close relative is asking, you can say to them that I will not tell you. You cannot be harsh to them as it will break relation. There are other practical ways to avoid giving them this information. Like you can tell them that you make as much as Warren Buffet. So you are just making a sweet joke to them and avoiding the question with a smile. They will also take is supportingly. If some distant relative is asking or just a casual friend has interests in your assets, you should clearly tell them that this is none of their business.

this depends on the degree of kinship, you will not say to your father, mother and brothers "I will not tell you" if they ask you questions, even because they are right in you to ask questions, imagine that one day you arrive home with a car luxury you bought with bitcoin and they ask you questions, won't you tell them the truth? if you don't tell the truth they will think you stole the car or money and went to buy the car

Regardless if it's crypto or not, there will always be a person that will do a sh*tty act like that and sometimes those persons are just within your circle of friends that supposedly, you won't expect to do such crap. "Money is money".

Besides, I don't see why we should tell others about how much we owned, whether it's crypto or fiat. It's not making sense to me and that alone is already enough reason why I shouldn't do that. I can share my experience like the one in the story but to tell the exact amount I've been putting up on crypto-trading or any related crypto-investment, there's no way I will tell that specific detail, especially my current holdings and profits.

Generally, just stay low-key as much as possible.

Is that story really true? What an unfortunate guy as he is surrounded by bullsh*t friends.

It's not just to tell your friends or other family members, but not to trust someone will all your crypto holdings. There is also this 5 dollar wrench attack, https://cointelegraph.com/news/5-wrench-attacks-appear-to-be-on-the-rise-in-the-crypto-community.

I would understand if this is the early years wherein we want to spread awareness, but right now, it's different, this criminals are looking for ways, online or offline to steal from someone regardless if he/she is your friend. Sooner or later they will be tempted to do this things and this will not be the last. So we have to be very vigilant and protect ourselves but not telling our crypto assets and how big or small it is.

When it comes to money trust no one, that is one of the reason why we are all here cause it is available in decentralized bitcoin. This is not applicable to crypto holdings it can be applied to everyone who is rich but people who are rich enough may have safeguard with them all the time so others keep your financial success silent until it reaches a state you can't hide it anymore.
Cryptos anonymity is a feature that allow us to keep our hodlings secretly, revealing our holdings to a third party apart from wife or kids can be very risky, apart from setting up such a holder for kidnappers some fraudulent friends might subtly steal your important details, like password and key in a bid to hack into your wallet and steal all the coins, I don't reveal my crypto hodlings to anyone even friends and my colleagues at work, I do my things in secrecy except my wife who knows much about my trading activities linked to crypto, there are untrustworthy fellows who jealous of our financial progress.

Bitcoin is GOD
We’re there already, once money is involved, people will chose to be greedy and selfish no matter how close your friends to you. So yes, trust no one but only yourself. Although we can always share about crypto investments to our friends because that is also one way to promote crypto, but never tell them how much you are earning out from those investments because for sure, they will always do something to get it from you.
Not only it is important to not reveal how much bitcoin you may have, I think it is even important to hide for how long you have been invested in this market, and this is because if someone were to find out that you have been part of this market for many years they may think you have a fortune and create a lot of rumors about you.

And if those rumors are listened by the wrong people then something similar to what it is mentioned by the OP could happen to you, and the worst part is that you will have no chance to save yourself by giving your bitcoin away, as most likely the amount will not be anywhere close to what those criminals expect you to have.

As has been said, this is not just a crypto thing. Don't let people know how much liquid / easily available funds you have in general.
It's not just the criminals who are going to rob you, or kidnap you and hold for ransom. It's the conmen, the relatives who need money, the tax people.

No, I'm not saying you should tell nobody. But, keeping your finances private and only let some people know is always a good thing.

-Dave

Yes it applies to other type of holdings as well. Like for instance, gold related crimes are also very common in my country. People keep gold here in their homes and even poor people have some gold surely. Whenever, there is robbery in any house, gold is stolen first and results in huge loss as it is costly. Most of the times the reason behind this happening is that private information is leaked by some maid or other family member and robbers make use of that information.

Another reason to keep all this financial information private is that this information can also spread from person to another. Suppose you casually tell to a trusted relative about your bitcoin holdings. But what will happen if that relative further spreads that information to another relative. Like for example, suppose you share it with your father and then he boasts of his son achievements in front of his friends. This is very common and can happen with anyone.

that could really make  someones lives change in terms of finances. This is why its never been a good thing on showing up everything. Its not bad to be proud but you should set out some limitations
in terms of privacy and asset holdings. You dont know on what are the things that they do have in mind and people would really do criminality if they do saw that they could get
huge sums of money.Wondering on how the owner did get the funds considering that crypto transactions are irreversible?

3 words. Trust no one. I still remember the Netflix documentary regarding QuadrigaCX with a title "Trust no One".

This applies especially when it comes to crypto investment. TBH, I'm not telling anything to other people about cryptocurrency. If they will approach me then I will give advice and some tips but not my whole crypto investment. No one knows how much my total crypto portfolio is and maybe I'm lucky but there are no people around me who knows anything about cryptocurrency which is a good thing for me as it decreases my chances of my holdings getting stolen.

Don't trust anybody even your family members because you don't know what they can do to you. Maybe in the future, I will share it to my partner but only my Bitcoins and I will not give him the whole amount Cheesy.
So keep it to yourself alone. That way, you can always avoid future problems with your own crypto hodlings. The more you save it for yourself, the more safer you are from stealing and even  free from crimes that anyone can actually do as long as money is the reason. Although we can always entrust this matter to our wife because this is the right thing to do, but sometimes keeping it as a secret is always the best thing to do.

Winding down.
The rules of the game are quite clear in this space, "you're the sole determinant of the extent to which your privacy is maintained". However, because some people think that wealth is a pride that must be shown, they don't pay much attention to it, especially since the crime rate isn't too high in their area.
Even so, it’s always a basic thing to never disclose anything you have especially if it’s all about money. Sad reality that most of the people never pay much attention to because they trusted their friends like their own family. And in that way, they can always prove to other people how far their achievements have gone, which literally made some of those friends to get envy and some may even think that he’s too boastful to brag what he have.

Telling the assets ownership of our own assets is a stupid thing because we do not know how good the friends around us are even from them and traitors to rob your assets when they know the contents are very large amounts.

Investment must be a secret and we ourselves are responsible for it, even I have never told anyone around me how much my total investment assets are in crypto even though my family including my wife never know the total assets of all but they only know investment in crypto and I can provide what they want, that's enough for me, and I alone am responsible for all that is known.

When I'm with friends, I never talk about investing, let alone show it to them, and my lifestyle is not too excessive, it's almost the same as theirs, so they don't suspect anything, so I always compare how when I'm close to friends I don't need luxury or show assets, if it's shown it's the same we are looking for trouble to them.

In general, I think that's what happens when the government fails the people. People start resorting to criminal offenses to survive their daily needs. If people get to be taken care of by the government, no one would probably be in the right mind to do such heinous acts.

Be careful who you let in, and that's being safe for sure.

Holding crypto means we take full responsibility for protecting it from anyone we know. We can tell the people closest to us but with a note, they are people we can trust to hold our secrets. But if we can't or haven't found the right person, we shouldn't have to say anything about the crypto we own for our own safety. If it's about money, people can think about evil. Even friends can try to take it from us. We don't want to see other people will try to steal our crypto or money by doing a crime against us.

This example also helps us to understand that how not to trust others blindly. Moreover in case of an emergency, always use a hardware wallet and give access to it, to your loved ones. In India Bitcoins aren’t legalised, so my only doubt is that how did the police helped in this case regarding the recovery of the coins.

Like others, money is the root of all evil. People will change if it is already involved with money; you need to find out if they are your real friends or if they just gained your trust to execute their plan perfectly. In real life, the best advice is not to trust your friends, such as showing off your portfolio and how much money you have. It would be best if you did this to your own family instead, so they are aware, but be cautious with anyone because it involves a lot of money.

They are treacherous and stupid friends, and I don't think that far with my friends, and all they do is don't realize the entrepreneur is their own friend which I find a bit unreasonable.
he was kidnapped and told to transfer and of course his friends have bitcoin wallets and make sure they are also involved, and he ran away after the transfer and I don't see any story how he ran away and reported to the police whether his friends were arrested and the bitcoins back might be transferred back.
I think this is a bit confusing, but whatever it is, it's best not to tell anyone about your bitcoin holdings or any wealth that I don't think most people would spread their wealth around because it's pointless and just risky.

I always remember my cousin when he told me before to trust no one when it comes to money. It was a piece of advice because I used to let some of my friends borrow money but most of them aren't paying me back, especially when the time I needed it most. It is really true that people really change when it comes to money based on my experiences as well. It is better to keep all our financial assets secret as much as possible. It is enough to let 1 to 3 people you entrust most and give them a hint in case of emergency.

How can a kidnapped person can escape and told the police about a criminal in his home? businessman or an average person doesn't learn self defense since they're only learn about money management and investment. I just imagine a person who get kidnapped or $5 wrench attack, they must tell the private key or seed phrase to the criminal since he will scared and think his life is more important than money.

It doesn't matter if this story is true or not, but we can learn the lesson that we shouldn't trust anyone but our family. We should not brag to someone that we have a lot of money, not only with bitcoins but with all our possessions. I joined the market very early but until now my neighbors still don't know that I own bitcoin, they just know that I am a guy with a stable job at a company near my house and a small shop to trade.

the lesson here is to never tell anyone exact amount you hold. You can inform just one member like your parents or wife about this so that they can recover the funds in case anything happens to you but never tell this information to casual friends or distant relatives.
We often trust too much, and trust is an expensive commodity in the market these days. For people you trust, when you are around them, the tendency to let your guard down becomes higher simply because you trust them. Even apart from not letting and telling people you think you trust know the exact amount of crypto you have; you should also avoid giving an exact amount of fiat that you have especially when it is an amount that can be tempting to someone.

People you trust can still exploit that trust you have in them and take advantage of you. As an individual, it is now better to always keep the trust you have in people under constant reevaluation, so you will always be conscious and will be difficult to be taken off guard.

So important not to tell anyone about your holdings because we don't know if people around us will praise us because if they found out that we hold a lot of money maybe this one will cause us harm since anyone can do bad for money especially if they need that badly.

So better stay low key and slowly change your lifestyle so that they will not get surprised about little changes happen to your life.

Or, never tell anything at all that may involve money, trust no one. I even rarely tell my wife how much I own but she's not the persistent one so it's fine for both of us in the end. Not everyone was really happy with what they got, others get jealous or they have others intent bad behind you.
It is never important to let people know your worth of bitcoin,  people always tell the public what they have one wants to show up to let people know they are doing well to have such amount of bitcoin.  I don't see any reason for someone to let friends know the amount of bitcoin  he/she is investing if not to become relevant or to intimidate people. Amount of bitcoin for investment should be kept secrete because some people thinks to have some amount bitcoin it means you are super rich.
I don't really know the context of super-rich but seems that is just the notion we can see in the media these days, more like hype. One thing I'm not really open about it is that even close relatives are asking you to lend them money just because they know how profitable is it in crypto, which is not entirely true at all, especially these days that it is down.

Don't make your life known to other people and never make use of your money to gain fame and recognization cause we never that one of these people is just looking for an opportunity to get it from us. I hold crypto, and I tell my friends as well, however, never I discuss how it gives me money but rather tell them how it was useful to us in this generation where we are in digital adoption. In that way, they will think that crypto is just a currency like fiat money, not an investment. So, nobody has an interest in me. Grin Grin

This account might also be real. We have had several cases of people escaping from the kidnappers' den in my location. Kidnappers are humans and are prone to errors. They can oversee or even fail to secure their hideouts.

It's hard to trust people this period because greed and materialism rule the world. There are so many stories of close family members killing each other because they want to have access to the victim's money. Currently, people can do anything just to get money. Revealing your financial status to only trusted persons is paramount because unveiling it to more persons increases the chances of becoming a target of these criminals.

If the goal is to get people to know more and try to follow what you are investing in, it may have a positive impact. But such cases have also brought him into danger. I prefer to keep my holdings in crypto assets confidential. Although other people know what I invest but not by the amount and the most important thing is not to show off my popularity in public. The nature of large ownership always makes us want to look valued and show off in the eyes of the public as a social status.

Envy and jealousy is a very bad thing. Not everyone who rolls with you are your friends. No matter who they are there should be boundaries as to what you reveal to them and what you don't. This extends far beyond your crypto holdings. This goes further into other investments - real estate, companies etc.

This brings to mind the Law 2 of the 48 Laws of Power By Robert Greene: Never put too much trust in friends, learn how to use enemies
Be wary of friends—they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrranical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.

Heck, I'm going to go as far as to not mention bitcoin/crypto in general unless really needed. Pretty much only my closest friends know that I'm into crypto, and I mention my other non-crypto ventures when asked by other people about my income.

I do the same but not because I'm scared but it also changes the social conversations into something awkward where they ask me if it's legal, if I'm laundering money, if I'm a hacker. I had enough of it so now I tell people that I manage social media and stuff Cheesy

OP is showing a general problem with showing off wealth, not only crypto. There's a guy in my town who was a famous youtuber and he bought a Mercedes AMG and used it in his videos. The car was parked in front of his house surrounded by a high fence and automatic gate. He also had cameras. Some guys came at night, unscrewed hinges of the gate and moved it out of the way, then used an electronic cracking tool to find frequency of his car, unlocked it and drove away. The car was later recovered but some of the parts were stripped. They probably got 10k just for the wheels.

This story is not only applicable to crypto hold. it's a story about criminals who want someone's money, the form of the money doesn't matter.
what is interesting to me, is how the hell your acquaintance considered such people to be his friends. let's be clear, maybe that amount of 3BTC seems big to you, but it's certainly not big enough to risk prison. even if that amount is divided among several people, it is definitely not worth such a risk.
so, they weren't real friends, plus they weren't particularly smart either.

Was it locally reported in India? I do not reside in India, but I have never read any news about any kidnappings of a businessman in crypto.

This unwritten rule does not only apply in crypto but to fiat as well. Never tell anyone how much you earn weekly, daily, and even monthly. Even if you see plenty of influencers like Musk and Jeff out there sharing their net worth to the whole world, you are far more at risk encountering some scums including backstabbers from either your friends or anyone inside your social circle.

Usually I just tell my relatives and close friends that I am particularly just an enthusiastic about crypto, but I had never told anyone that I am earning from it.

He's lucky not to have learnt a lesson frombthe best mistake of his life, having 3btc is not something some holders could consider big because they have about 30btc in their disposal, but his mouth could have place him to where he would ever regret being, i wonder how he  had managed to get to where he was without being secretive, privacy is what some people with their own hands chased away and they will always find excuses to blame others for thier actions they should be responsible for.

Tbh not even people that are part of my contingency plan in case something happens to me don't really know how much in crypto I have and you simply don't share that info around (I can understand telling your wife though if she asks).

How can a kidnapped person can escape and told the police about a criminal in his home?
Maybe kidnappers were amateurs (and probably are as they were his "friends") that made a mistake and he managed to escape, and who said that they were still in his home when police came? I don't see it as very unlikely to happen.

Since he said that funds were recovered, it probably means that kidnapped person eventually gave them bitcoin, and after police arrested them they managed to retrieve it.

It was dumb to show what he earned exactly really. If you really wanted to share (or brag), vaguely suggesting it should be enough, no need to go into specifics about it. If possible you don't really have to share it, especially if your profile was pretty vulnerable/public to the people you were sharing it about.

Got curious and snooped around, and found this article detailing a kidnapping and ransom event.

You may share it to those people who you really want to share it with ,that's just simple but avoid sharing your 100% asset. There's no need to show everything because it will just put you at risk; of being borrowed from or killed. These possibilities are no joke and has tendency of occuring especially if that's the wrong person whom you shared it with. Keep in mind that money talks and money is a powerful piece of paper. Just know the limits or lose everything, you choose.

The rules of the game are quite clear in this space, "you're the sole determinant of the extent to which your privacy is maintained". However, because some people think that wealth is a pride that must be shown, they don't pay much attention to it, especially since the crime rate isn't too high in their area.
They know their thing. If they really want to brag it they might be expecting something from other people which is for others to envy him/her(just an example, it could also be an inspiration but this is more likely to happen). If there is awareness on the risks, then he must be okay with consequences.

This topic applies to many things in life. For example, it's even been said that you shouldn't talk about the things you want to do. Those who say this are right. Because Bitcoin may not be the only thing stolen. Methods that will allow you to earn income for buying Bitcoin can also be stolen. That's why we shouldn't talk about everything. There's no point in saying that and taking risks. The outcome of such events can also be undesirable. Therefore, paying attention and thinking for a few minutes before speaking can save us from negative consequences.

There are a lot of factors involved like

1) Cunning friends: If you some friends who are very cunning, their purpose is just to get maximum benefit from you. They will always pretend to be nice and caring for you so you cannot even differentiate them from genuine friends. What is worse today is that most of the friends are like this only. There are very less real friends who are with you in your bad times and will never exploit your weakness.

2) Nature of the person: Nature of the person also has an impact on whether this will happen or not. Extrovert people are at higher risks for these type of problems because they are not able to control their mouth. They express all their feelings and emotions even in front of strangers. This is the basic nature of person and it cannot be changed also. Only thing they can do is to remind themselves continuously not to revel information like that related to crypto or btc holdings.
