Quick question: If I import my private keys from a wallet that does not support segwit into a segwit supported wallet, will I pay lower fees when transacting from the new segwit-supported wallet?
The fee doesn't depend on the wallet, the fee depends on the address. You'll have to actually move the funds to a SegWit-address before you can use lower fees.

Your SegWit-supporting wallet can make a SegWit transaction afterwards, and the fee for that is going to be lower.
