It is not right that the son will be tempted to become this if the father is a worker and businessman. Boys now prefer to have their own desires more than their parents. Well this is not a myth because it happens in most cases. Own senario when I was small in The community a friend be of mine dad is a craft man, all his children even the female one become a craft gifted personnel. It happens but some time is a different story all through. I see this something that is subject to change due to personal decision coming inside the children as growth and maturity comes in depending on the nature if what is likely people view them to be like their father can be abolished if it's of negative side if life .

It varies as per experience of everyone. It can be a reality to most but a myth to some. You'd see that many will say that it is the reality for them and that's why they're treating their fathers as their heroes and I am one of them.
But those that don't have a good childhood and experience with their fathers, they don't want to be like that have bad experiences and left them hanging with their families.

I do not think that some traits are inherently in us just because our parents were like that for example like you said if a father is extravagant most likely his children will be too but that is not because of heredity but rather that was how they were raised it can be unlearned for sure but if a child spent his formative years adapting a trait it is not that far for the child to bring it until he grows older
Our father is our model this is why it is not only in Money making but in reality of life, what we see in our parents is what we are mostly going when we are older, mostly the Son is for His father and the Daughter is for the Mother but sometimes they can get both.

Well it's a reality not a myth. Because as far as I know, no matter how we look differently from our fathers in different characters or body structure, there is that one thing that bind or quantify us as the name implies like father like son. It's a natural phenomenon which comes to play a role in our life, and we can't deny the fact.

The reality is, its a cycle or 3-4 generations. Let's assume the 1st gen is poor, the second gen men will work hard and will have increased financial stability followed by the thrid but the 4th gen kid will be rich and most likely financially irresponsible who will go broke and the cycle repeats but this cycle can be extended a lot further depends on how the dad make their kid financially responsible.

Not a myth but reality , Like my father (who is a drinker) i used to be one as well , He as womanizer I used to be one as well , but it changes eventually as we go mature when we realized our priorities in life and that gives us how world is rightful in all matter.Now I am lucky because I bring my children grow when time that I am changed m when the time that I have not been a bad at all , they did not see me drinking nor smoking , and so now as they grow mature they are not also dealing in vices.
Well my father left me to be with my mother when I was a young age. It made me very angry when I did get older. I do not know the man to this day but I did hear when I was younger he was not a nice man I want to be like.
It was told to me it was a blessing for this to happen. So that I he could not have be become a evil person like him. And I still do think how much different I could be if this did not happen in my life.
