Acrylic has not yet arrived - buddy is calling the supplier tomorrow to check on status. Should have an update tomorrow.

1st update - the black piece will go edge to edge vs floating border as shown.
2nd update - ColdKeys not on hand - credit cards will do - sorry didnt leave the numbers intact for you to go shopping though
the black insert can be a variety of colors - and will be cut on the next one for a tighter fit - this was a quick rough draft - and I need screws that will bit this better - had to use what I had on hand.
so call this the alpha version - beta version to come soon
3rd update - screws are ordered - they will be recessed (not bolts/nuts like the alpha version) screws should be in tomorrow. and dialing in the tolerances for the inside piece a bit more to hold the cards tighter.
4th update - acrylic is on order - sadly 3 to 4 weeks to get the bulk order in. But enough was ordered to do at least 25 sets - the film will be left on the acrylic so the receipent can peel it off - this will reduce my fingerprints and chances of scratches. So will be three pieces and 4 screws.
5th update - the acrylic insert can be engraved as well - thinking like if you want to have your coldkey serial number engraved or like "#9 of 21"
6th update - used 8/32 1/4" steel screws - also going to try 6/32 1/4" brass screws.
7th update - adding a list for reservations. Will have 24 initially. My initial idea is $12-$14 for the double and $9-$10 for the single.

shipping is not a concern and the focus will be on the double holders first - there should be enough to make 1 single from two sheets so 2 doubles and 1 single from each pair of acrylic. If so, those will be made after the doubles and I will provide them to those who have shown interest (going in order of requests on this thread and from my pms - thank God for timestamps

gotcha - tbh still working with the screws and holes - playing with chunks of acrylic - I want to be sure that the screws dont strip out the holes after repeated use. makes me wish had the equipment to do molds lol those come out much more cleaner looking obviously but have a huge setup cost but then very low cost going forward - that is why the sports cards one go for so cheap they can push a million of em out with ease.
will check on the gold and get you a pic of what that would be tomorrow.

Mopar, sadly I missed the auction for the ColdKey and unfortunately I no longer need the cases that I reserved (was sniped by a dear dear "friend", lol). Hopefully it is not any inconvenience for you to release these and sell to someone else. I apologize for the inconvenience! I believe they will quickly sell to someone else, but if not feel free to PM me and perhaps we can work something out.
not at all - we plan on making more as well - this was all we could get the acrylic for right now and that was with a 3-4 week wait as well so still have a few weeks before the acrylic even comes in.
will remove you for now - but remember the silver and bronze ones will be going up for sale soon.

the singles will also fit the crypto stamps - but not in their sleeves - so that might not be an option for a lot of people but for some it might. Will look into making ones that will hold them in the sleeves though that would really just be a bunch of squares all looking exactly the same - so display them in a 4 slot and keep the sleeves safely aside?

These look awesome...I have plenty of other items as well in mind...try to do a crypto 1.0 stamp from last year.
i would need one on hand. I actually have one (crypto 1.0 stamp) in the mail to me - I can try it when it gets here.
I am also looking at getting another 45 watt laser to have on hand at the house vs always having to go to the shop where the other one is and with the big contract coming that my buddy got - might be moving to another larger site and it might be further away - so I think getting one to have here will be a good idea.

ok update - let me preface with the acrylic used is scrap pieces - production acrylic will be new and still have the protective covering over the acrylic for the recipient to remove. So, please try and ignore the scratches all over these acrylic pieces.
the screws do hold the pieces together well - these are 4mm holes on the back side - when the production acrylic comes in, we will go with a 3.5mm hole - did try a 3mm hole but it cracked the acrylic so we stepped up to 4mm - do not have any more sheets to try another set.
Here are pics of both a single and a double holder.
first pic is just the cards inside the center insert -which can be a variety of colors - I would need to know what color you want in advance though.

there is a bigger laser in the works - at which point I will look at doing a 9 card page or maybe 12 card page? for a whole years worth of your monthly's?

I can probably open for orders after I have finished version of each. Unless everyone wants me to have them all done first. But if people want different color inserts or to have the insert engraved (think like having the # of the set cut into it.)
no problem on a single - should have both a single and double finished tomorrow or Monday at the latest. lol I wonder if yogg could use the pieces cut out of the insert to make more cards - seems like a waste to toss those.

pictures with actual ColdKeys inserted (again, I will have a new version that fits the cards better in the next day or two - waiting on screws) the black piece can also be whatever color you want.

Will be quite impressed with all this. I created a thread serval years ago similarly but for Kialaras. I called around for quotes and it was one hell of a project and expensive.
Curious did you look in to using magnets over screws at all ?
not yet but I can do that in the morning. the recessed type style screws i have seen require a thicker more expensive acrylic - i am sure big companies can get it cheaper than we can but I am thinking maybe something like this too
no worries we can get these made and should not be that expensive. thinking easily under $15 for a double but still have to get all the materials in - this is just a rough one made with stuff around the shop. to get more or less a template.
edit - btw I could look into doing them for Kialaras as well - but I would need one for sizing.

2nd update - ColdKeys not on hand - credit cards will do - sorry didnt leave the numbers intact for you to go shopping though
the black insert can be a variety of colors - and will be cut on the next one for a tighter fit - this was a quick rough draft - and I need screws that will bit this better - had to use what I had on hand.
so call this the alpha version - beta version to come soon
3rd update - screws are ordered - they will be recessed (not bolts/nuts like the alpha version) screws should be in tomorrow. and dialing in the tolerances for the inside piece a bit more to hold the cards tighter.
4th update - acrylic is on order - sadly 3 to 4 weeks to get the bulk order in. But enough was ordered to do at least 25 sets - the film will be left on the acrylic so the receipent can peel it off - this will reduce my fingerprints and chances of scratches. So will be three pieces and 4 screws.
5th update - the acrylic insert can be engraved as well - thinking like if you want to have your coldkey serial number engraved or like "#9 of 21"
6th update - used 8/32 1/4" steel screws - also going to try 6/32 1/4" brass screws.
7th update - adding a list for reservations. Will have 24 initially. My initial idea is $12-$14 for the double and $9-$10 for the single.

I just wanted to make a thread - I am working on a possible solution to hold the coldkey halving edition cards where the two cards are suspended between two sheets of acrylic with a black border to keep them in place
I should have a test one made up this weekend - waiting for thinner acrylic as well so this first one will be a little bit thicker than would use for the actual will be a bit thinner.
I am using two of my existing coldkeys I have for measurements.
here are the plans - should be cutting soon.
will have screws in each corner to hold the black border and cards between the two clear acrylic sheets.
will update thread with finished pics as soon as done.
I could also entertain the idea of making ones that fit the single cards as well.
**NOTE** this is completely separate from Yogg and ColdKey --- I just saw a possible need for this and if nothing else and no one likes/wants them - I will still have them for mine
