I just got my hands on the Gridseed A1 (second hand; it was shipped without the lady, but whatever).

Previous owner changed the default password, so

1 - how do I unlock it?

2 - alternatively, where can I download a new image to the SD card to flash?

Thanks

Hello !

We purchased 20 Gridseed A1 Miners and are not so happy with them.

Most of them underperform and you have to recheck all miners of lost cables etc.

Here is a small screenshot how they perform.

http://imgur.com/fYjVO0S

Some miners looks like that inside.

http://imgur.com/vwPYGLB

2 PSU are not working how they should, after we tested with PSU from fully working miner the faulty miner worked normal.

So be prepared to solve many things like missing screws etc.

Any reviews or feedback about this company? I got reply as they allow purchase of only one unit now, just wondering if it is worth it. Thanks in advance

The website still says 10 as mimimum order.

If you received a PM telling you that it's possible to order 1, be very sure that it actually came from X-Hash. Scammers will often choose a very similar forum name in an attempt to trick you.

How about shipping to Japan?

I'm sorry the MOQ for Gridseed A1 1TH Bitcoin Miner is 20 pcs Wink
So it will be 19980USD in total? Too much money.
It will be good if the Gridseed A1 1TH Bitcoin Miner could be sold singly.

So did anyone end up receiving FUNCTIONAL miners from these people? If so, how long did they take to ship them to you (I'm talking from order to receiving your product)? Thanks!

Check our other reviews here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615809.80 , and you can find plenty of people share their experiences Smiley

From what I can see, that post only addresses asic script miners, is that all you're offering now... Are you guys not dealing with the 1.1 TH/s BTC miners anymore? Thanks!

We do have Gridseed A1 1.1TH/s BTC miners, but the first batch is been sold out, we are waiting for them from manufacturers.

Anyone receive their units today? I received 1/2 of my units today but am having issues with the WiiBox recognizing the blades. I know X-Hash will help me once that side of the world wakes up, but I was curious to see if anyone in the US had received theirs as well. Im impatient when it comes to mining equipment not hashing!

I am so sorry to hear this, the problem has been reported to our manufacturer. We feel just angry at the manufacturer as you do.

We have contacted other customers, a few of them do have the same issue, but not for sure yet. We also have been negotiating with Gridseed for an ideal solution. There must be a way to make up for your loss , we promise, just wait for our message plz!

Too bad I don't have a 220 line. I doubt 110 will work with it.

You can add 2 110 circuits on breaker panel to make 220 line.  Just change wall plug.  Just like the one for washer or dryer or oven.

Are you sure about a sound level of 90 dB?
Even the loudest vacuumcleaner are 70 dB and you can't hear Delta server fans spinning at full speed when you are using a vacuumcleaner.

It got to be a lot less than 90 dB.

x2 ^^

Noise level for fans is measured from a 3m distance not at the fan directly. That's how manufacturers are presenting data for a bigger fans like 4" or 5".
Just measure it again at 0,5m - 1m and 2m and post results.
We tested it right close the fan without any distance, but we are waiting for a more precise equipment, will upload the result with pic later! Thanks~ Smiley

Looks like the Gridseed A1 has some sort of thin server PSU, now with quoted power consumption at nearly 1400W and the rackmount "ears" on the case, can we assume that this is one loud ass mofo that will make my ears bleed if its not in some datacenter 100 miles away?

Any videos of it up and running/hashing, with sound?

Hey, compared with G-Blade, A1 is much more noisy, that' indeed. But A1 is not noisy enough to make your eares bleed.

You have every right to doubt that, but I can tell you the noise is 90db( testing next to the case), and it's 1300w. You can go visit some large mining field with hundreds TH miners, then you might believe that A1 is not noisy at all.

You won't be deaf, I can promise you~  Wink

Hmm 90db is louder than a Spondoolies-Tech SP10 which is impossible to have in the home because it is too loud.

In comparison a A1 Dragon with standard ATX PSU is around 65db.

Actually 90-95db is the "Level at which sustained exposure may result in hearing loss"

http://www.gcaudio.com/resources/howtos/loudness.html

That's my concern too. Thank god! They are working upstaris instead of in our office near us, or I will be sitting here replying to you while becoming deaf. Wink

I believe A1 Dragon is quiter, but also with less harshrates (less 8 chips than Gridseed A1).

I guess we can't have both great harshrates and quite. (I wish I could tell our manufacturer to make it quiter without reducing harshrates, really)

What PSU is inside (the exact type)?
How much consumption if 1000GHash and how much if overclock to 1200GHash and more?

Hi,  A1's PSU is server power supply.

The consumption of 1000Ghash is 1170w, and that of overlock to 1200Ghash or more has not been carried out by our lab yet. I will let you know as soon as we find out a reliable data. Smiley

If its anything like the Terraminer, it will turn your house into an insta-datacenter.. lol. SOOOOOOOOOOOO loud! Not realistic for putting in your house unless you are single and can deal with/somehow control the noise.

I have a Hashra Launcher and was concerned when i was reading on here people complaining about how loud it is, ROFL, this thing is dead silent compared to the Terraminer.

I witnesse 25G Butterfly Labs BTC miner working a few months ago, really impressed, totally got the feeling that other miners are "dead silent" , haven't seen Terraminer, but I guess I agree with you. hahahahha. sorry I can't help laughing, love the way you describe things.  Grin

What is the meaning of the message "Watch Out! There is a cheater trying to scam!"?

Is it another scammers website hacked? ^___^

Hi, thanks for you question!

Our website is totally safe and hasn't been hacked~

What we are trying to announce is that there is a fake X-Hash staff named X-Hach at Skype trying to sell products by pretending X-Hash's sales.

His Skype username is sales.x-hach, there's little difference you can tell. I have to say, he is smart! We just want our customers be aware of these scam commercials to avoid capital loss.

And, I am so glad you reminded us to make it more clear and understandable. Thanks! very much! Kiss

you will have to take escrow as you have no trade history here nor any status.

Hey, We do have trade history of each product at our website http://www.x-hash.com . The reason we haven't take escrow is that escrow charge high transfer fees, we are currently doing mining business with very low profit, so BTC trans is better for both seller and buyers. I understand your worry, but we do have good credit, and you can trust us as the official reseller of Gridseed(http://www.gridseed.com/en/), we just merged with the DidInForce(Sole distrubuter of Gridseed in China)http://www.diginforce.com/. You can totally trust us. Smiley

Sorry for being a newbie, it's a journey I can't control as I've just been this forum for 1 month. What I can control is that X-hash is indeed the official reseller of Gridseed, we can promise our products are genuine and can be guaranteed. We haven't started using Escrow yet, but we are working on that. For the moment, we only take BTC. BTW, I am Amber, not a "he", and nice to meet u here.  Smiley

downclocking it to 880gh and getting an 850 watt power  may have been a better choice.  runs cooler quieter.

1100gh is nice but the 1390  watt pull is meh.

Of course if the price of btc jumps to 900 usd your gear would be fine.

Our A1 Miner is of 5 module and 40 chips, definitely higher watt power than those with 4 modules. And the data is based on the testing sample, it's not officially accurate data, I will update these information after the manuafacturer's confirmation. thank you~ Cheesy

Looks like a good deal , waiting for our senior member to have a review?  I hope your preorder date will ship on time

Thanks for your valuable suggestion~
For the moment, most of those people who claimed being mining with A1 do not actually running this certified A1 Miner(1.1 TH without overclock), their "A1" has been modified to overclock. As a result, it's less likely to have a senior member to publish a review of Gridseed A1 1.1 TH Miner, for the fact that no one can get it from Gridseed until 20 June.
I understand your worry, that's why I hope one of our pre-order customers is a senior member~~~~ Smiley

Is this not the A1 from innosilicon?

Thanks! Good question!
Our miner are using the exactly original Innosilicon A1 chips, 5 module * 8 chips = 40 chips in total, that's why it can achieve 1100 G without overclock. Other providers' miner only got 4 module, so it's 32 chips, it can only overclock to 1000G. Same Innosilicon chip! Different module amount! Hope my answer is helpful~ Wink
