I think maybe it all depends on the value of bitcoin, if you ask which altcoin will be pumped, I think everything will pump up following the development of the value of Bitcoin

Not really that all altcoin will pump. For example in the last 3/4 years ago that bitcoin got to ATH, while etheruem and litecoin really pumped behind bitcoin, some other altcoins never did. It all depend on the use of the coin and design. Coins don't pump in the same way or time.

hard to guess, I think it's random...
as usual, when the price of Bitcoin goes up, the price of some Altcoins goes up. if the range is reduced to the only top 20, then I guess ETH, LTC, DASH, BCH & MONERO will go up.
What's the closest to BTC always have a greater chance of increasing the value when bitcoin start to pumped up. It's hard to accurately say which coins will rise as everyone are basing things according to how they've seen the possibilities.
It's up to your own observation managing your investment is very important it's needed to have a deeper look before investing your money.

In my opinion the top10 will do just as always - pump- these altcoins are tezos, litecoin, tether, eos etc. These in the past have not failed in showing a really close shadowing of BTC. Also, since these also happen to be the top10 with most market cap in my opinion is another indicator of how well they'll do relative to BTC.

I still do not believe that we are now experiencing a pump. We're going to see a new bull market and the coins beyond the top 50 will go up again. But what I would like to know is, is it possible to detemine which altcoins pumped the most after the last halving in 2016 and its all time high? Does anyone have any data?

I doubt that altcoins would benefit from the hype around Bitcoin halving and pump in case this latter pumps. With a dominance of +68%, Bitcoin is having an upper hand here and clearly altcoins are boycotted. To make it short, I think that if you want to bet on halving creating a bull trend BTC is what you should bet on and definitely not altcoins.

which altcoins to pump after halving? altcoin pumping depends on the price of bitcoin. so I have no idea which altcoin to pump. go to coingecko or coinmarketcap and look at their graphs almost always. so we can't really say which altcoin to pump after halving..

What would drive it upwards is the lack of selling and not buying and that is something people have been missing out for a long time honestly

No, it doesn't work that way

The lack of selling coupled with the lack of buying (cause otherwise we would see prices rising steadily) means less liquidity in the market. And the latter inevitably leads to higher volatility, not the consistent upward momentum

Why would there be less sellers? Because every other way of making a profit is actually lacking and everything goes down, whereas bitcoin is a great long term investment for you, hence people would not sell their coins to keep making profit instead, and as long as we go up like we do right now there is no reason to keep selling so they will keep it instead (or "hodl" for better understanding)

Things are obviously a lot more complicated than that

As I'm inclined to think, most of the price action that we saw recently is explained by squeezes, both long and short ones. So it doesn't matter whether "Bitcoin is a great long term investment" or not (while we are at it, this mantra doesn't seem to work anymore either). Sellers can sell on margin, just as buyers can buy on margin too, and this is what has been going on for quite some time now. Put differently, sellers, or lack thereof, as you mean them and as we know them, don't play a significant role in this game of stakes

In your opinion, which coins should pump the most in the following months after the halving and why?
As probably many of you, I think a bullish scenario for bitcoin and alt are ahead of us after the halving. I'm trying to figure out which alt coins have the potential to pump the most in the following 6 months.
So I'm looking forward to read your opinion on this. Thanks guys!

No one can say which altcoin will pump. Because it will take a complete market decision. Some altcoin follows bitcoin, altcoin pumps when bitcoin pumps and the same thing happens when bitcoin dumps. Slightly dumping bitcoin shows that altcoin dumps more. So overall, predicting altcoin is not an easy task.

But I think eth will do something good in the future. I am not thinking of anything short term for this. So I will give priority to eth now. Because there is a lot of exciting development ahead. Everyone can have their own opinion. Your opinion may not match with mine.

Altcoins that SHOULD pump the most?
TBH, I don't feel much but I was hoping that ETH will do most. Isn't sure that among the top listed coins will make a huge pump either.
Then, we are about to draw some speculation and to know that 6months after halving we are expecting the effect of halving, and if that Bitcoin will in the bullish that time, it for sure that altcoins will rally the same. To the fact that we never know what will happen in the future, we should just give wild gues and hoping that our bet is right.

What would drive it upwards is the lack of selling and not buying and that is something people have been missing out for a long time honestly.

Right now, let's assume that economy will not recover and there is something that is going to challenge everyone's money and they will not be able to buy into bitcoin and price doesn't increase because we lack the buyers, it could still go up because there is even lesser sellers. Why would there be less sellers? Because every other way of making a profit is actually lacking and everything goes down, whereas bitcoin is a great long term investment for you, hence people would not sell their coins to keep making profit instead, and as long as we go up like we do right now there is no reason to keep selling so they will keep it instead (or "hodl" for better understanding).

If the world economy continues to go downhill (which is almost certain), don't expect too much from cryptocurrencies either (just in case, I eagerly hope to be wrong on this one). So, to rephrase your question, we should rather ask ourselves which cryptos are going to outperform Bitcoin on this slide down, i.e. not fall as much and actually rise against Bitcoin. I think these are the currencies among top altcoins which already lost much of their value. These are Ethereum and probably Litecoin as well as EOS. There can be pumps and dumps at times but they will be hard to predict and time
The cryptomarket will experience some bullish scenario because the market have practically perform every procedure of the bullish market after halving, there's chance that the bullish market may not big as we expected because of the pandemic but the bullish market will definitely happen.

But what is going to push it up?

But really? Especially when everything else is crashing down? Indeed, if the economy restarts (highly unlikely in the near future), cryptocurrencies will have something to build up the momentum on (e.g. money flowing into financial markets). On the other hand, if the economy keeps spiraling down, what is going to drive the prices of cryptocurrencies up? Bitcoin has likely already run out its upward potential due to halving, and if there are enough open marginal long positions, it won't be totally unreasonable to expect another massive squeeze of longs in the coming weeks

Know what?if we can only find which.currency would give us this profit?for sure we will buy and use all of our resources to invest in that one but the truth?none of us can tell which, but yeah we can at least give our opinion so we can help others to check the said coins and for mw nothing can Grow more than Binance and Ethereum for this halving effect because these 2 currencies are the most promising in our time now because BNB has been active making charities this past days while ETH is waiting for the 2.0 version.

I can only see the potentials on ethereum and nothing more when we talk about the altcoins. The network upgrade will definitely spur the price of ethereum to another higher ath this season, the movement has been growing from the bullish which started early 2020. For other altcoins, I can't really vouch for them because am not a holder of them. For those who are interested to invest their funds should look at ethereum as their possible option.

Not have potential coin will be pump after halving time because not get effect with bitcoin on higher price, will be the same price before and after halving for all altcoin, but I can ask you for holding etherum only because looks profitable when bitcoin touch with higher price.
ETH is a good coin and well supported by people but ETH is not the only altcoin people should invest in. However, i believe every altcoin on the top 200 which is not centralized and have confirmed utility with liquidity will follow bitcoin once the bullish market start.

I guess Ethereum and Ethereum classic are the coin that will be pump when bull run comes. Seeing both coin's price movement is really interesting one. Ethereum has been showing that it is the best altcoin who tempted the investor to buy it. Seems like the all time high for this coin is the past will be easily passed when it is closely reached.  And secondly, the coin's fork of ethereum and ww know it is ethereum classic. I see some information that spreading on some article platform that this coin will meet halving event. And I really curious in it and find by myself, and it was right that this coin will meet halving event. This is why a few day ago this coin has risen a lot. And I guess the increasing pricr will continue when the bull run comes.

There are many potential currencies who will pump easily this coming halving because of the hype so it is very difficult to safely drop a suggestion that this currency will likely to pump more compare to other currencies. If you want to play safe then you can choose any currency that are in top 20 as they have the potential to pump this coming halving.

Mainly bitcoin will surely to pump more also so you should not forget it to put in your basket of investment also as bitcoin price will likely to break 12k$ before the halving will occur. The other currencies are following the lead of bitcoin so you can just choose whatever currency that you trust and in my case here are my portfolio (Eth,XMR,BTC and EOS).

Alts with strong pump capabilities will often be characterized by new technology and a good community. I am only talking about my personal analysis, it may be true or false.
Lately I've been learning about Hbar and Band. Hbar has a very professional team and their technology can be applied to daily life and the community is very strong. But its marketcap is still a bit high right now so the possibility of growth will be limited. And for Band, this is a great alts and has more functions than Chainlink. Its marketcap is still quite low, despite having been very pumped for a week. So I still believe that Band will be a good candidate in the coming months.

Yes, Ethereum's position after Bitcoin If you invest in any currency after Bitcoin it is Ethereum As the price of Bitcoin rises so does the price of Ethereum. Al Coins will pump the most after half Ethereum is followed by LTC and XRP. However, the future of Ethereum is much better than these  Previously Ethereum was in a much better position  If the impact of bulls like Bitcoin falls on Ethereum  the price will go up a lot.

With the research i did about the previous bullish market , ZEC was the most pumped altcoin after 2016 bitcoin halving with 6,723.28% increase in price and i also expect it with ETH and others utility altcoins to make some remarkable surge after this year halving.

In your opinion, which coins should pump the most in the following months after the halving and why?
What about Altcoin called BTG, MKR, and ETH, what do you think about these three coins, are you sure that the price of the coins will soar in the future, I myself am sure that will happen to those three coins.

Everyone has their own dream and has the most favorite coins to invest in, if you ask me the three coins that I mentioned above will stand out in the future.
This is my thinking, of course, others have their minds to mention the best coins going forward.

I see that MKR as newcomers will have a chance to soar in the next bull run because I don't know why with that coin, seems this coin can directly get a high price at the market.
Altcoin market are higly manipulated and if you judge the future trend of altcoin base on the previous trend youll only get a wrong result because MKR is just a smart contract token which is also used to fuel transaction but backed with stablecoin. I dont see much concept to make it that sour as you said.

I still waiting for BTG to increase, but I don't have big expectations for those coins, but maybe that coin can grow too.

In the scenario that BTC goes up, and alt coins market pump, then obviously the top ten alts will be bump as well. ETH, XRP, Binance, Tezos will likely be the first recipient of the this domino effect. We have seen this happened before specially during bitcoin's peak. ETH has still a lot of hype, with it's ETH 2.0 and we might see XRP as well competing in the second spot. Then Binance with CZ behind promoting it and probably upcoming projects will used it Binance mainnet. And then there goes the pump-and-dump scheme of some low coins as well. Trying to take advantage of the hype again. It's going to be wild on altcoin markets once bitcoin entered its bull-run.

Well, according to what I have been learning from trading and especially from the general operation of cryptocurrencies, everything points to the fact that the currencies that are closest to Bitcoin, such as ETH, Monero, among others, are the ones that are most likely to grow rapidly, since that represent greater security, have more history and follow the Bitcoin movement, in fact all altcoins follow and depend on the Bitcoin movement, therefore I would lean more towards ETH (For being considered the second after Bitcoin) and Monero for being of privacy and anonymity.

It is true that ETH is the nearest to bitcoin compared to other altcoins like DEX,, NEM and PIVX. Ethereum is the potentially coins that we are watching right now because it is also a good alternative for bitcoin. It also gives its investors good amount of profit and it is reasonable because of its movement in the market.

If i will choose what altcoins should I invest, then I will choose ETH and DEX because it is really effective in the market but it will never replaced the good advantages and dominance of bitcoin in the cryptocurrency because of its mass adoption and globalization. It is the famous cryptocurrency that we are getting benefits right now so it is no wonder that still it is the best crypto compared to altcoins.

Its growth is not that fast but as you are monitoring its price from time to time, you will some improvement just like the volatility of bitcoin but still bitcoin is the most volatile coins that you can have as an assets.

Top ranking alts would mostly be on that line when the time comes where markets tends to shoot up or increase. It might not be a sure thing but high probability
that it would happen because most of the time alt and btc itself do correlates. The thing here is that we should take the risk for us to earn but always take precaution
because all things wont go as expected or been hoped for.For alts choices then go for established ones and i dont consider on putting up money into
those low ranking ones and just hoping for some whale pump and dump.

Meaningless waves build up out of nowhere and everyone gets caught up in it.
Let's ride us the waves then  Grin

So you are saying just because Bitcoin is going up, so are the alts? And that is the trigger?
Pretty much. In 2017 all you had to do was post a plagarised white paper, a one page website, whip up some shittokens on ETH and you could make instant millions. There was no reason for that other than mindless FOMO. In normal conditions to non panicking people you would simply be told to go fuck yourself. When things are on fire greed will convince people of anything.
I remember it pretty much.  Grin But that was driven by ICOs and ERC-20 Token. So what will be the next driver?

Ethereum, TRON and BCH should pump. Ethereum has some lined up events, which will make investors ti develop more interest in it. BCH although the having was done the last mint, it has the capacity to grow further, as it is a community-driven coin. Teon has not yet reached its price and many things are being said about it lately, even the CEO of Tron is engaging the project in so many things that may likely cause it to pump more.

Definitely ethereum because halving should probably affect the second biggest coin in ranking right? I mean why should it affect the 87th biggest coin and not the second one? That means we are going to see ethereum increasing and on top of that there are many more stuff going on with the ethereum world as well.

This is just the increase thanks to the halving and that will happen for sure, people will move to ethereum for moving their money around, ethereum even became a trading thing as well, which is why I think it is quite important for ethereum to increase since people will not only move their money from one place to another with ethereum a lot more frequently but they will start to trade with ethereum as well. And with all of that in mind, they are going to have eth 2.0 as well, which is another reason to increase.

I do not understand why the halving should have an influence on the price of Altcoins? Why would the price of the Altcoins go up? Why should more people suddenly buy Altcoins because the halving has happened?
It is always observed that altcoins are following the price path of bitcoin so if bitcoin price will skyrocket when halving comes, potential altcoins have also chances that they will be affected with the positive price of bitcoin and start following bitcoin's value. And i think ethereum would the best altcoin that will pump the most even after halving since it is closely paired to bitcoin whwn bullish trend comes.

It is too difficult to predict which altcoins that can increase or get a pump in this time because bitcoin does not yet rise so high, and the halving time does not start. But perhaps, ethereum, litecoin, dash, bnb, xrp, or else because there is no sign which coins that can get a pump. You should prepare for all of your coins, so you don't miss the chance to sell at the highest price.

But you can check the top 50 altcoins and analyze one by one, so you can figure out which coin you can buy or prepare from now on. It is not easy to find the right coins at now because all coins have the same potential to increase higher.

Altcoins that have real activity like etheruem. Etheruem has been a strong altcoin that felt the impact of bitcoin halving even in 2016and 2017 halving run. Most likely the top coins in the top 10 will have a big pump after the halving but it's not going to happen immediately, the top 10 coins in the market always follow the price of Bitcoin, this is how these top coins perform in the last halving so I expect that to happen again, I'm very bullish on Ethereum, Litecoin Eos Binance Ripple and the other on the top 10.

Real activity doesn't matter. BCH and BSV aren't too far off empty chains other than the attempts they make to fool people into thinking they're active. You can bet your tight buns they'll go just as nuts as everything else if the fever descends. I thought by now all the empty shit would've been shaken off but I think it's here forever now.

The worthwhile coins will eventually stand far above the jokes but there'll always be enough people dim enough to believe in the 'Bitcoin killer' narrative.

why would altcoin will pump when the event is for btc  ?

Take a quick look at the bitcoin:altcoin trading pairs. You will immediate realize that most altcoins(probably 90-95% of the time) are pretty much just following bitcoin's price, just mostly in an exaggerated manner.

The obvious altcoins that would pump are within the Top 10 because people only holds cryptocurrency that is popular, viavble asset and has good market cap. If you buy altcoins such ETH and LTC it is guaranteed that these altcoins will pump along with Bitcoin when halving takes place.
Maybe but we are not sure yet that during halving btc will pump. But once it did, I think those top coins are the one that will benefited from this pump. I remember when the last bull run happened major altcoins are heavily pump too same as bitcoin.

I am just not sure whether those new project can be dragged once the bitcoin pump. Cause most trader are now using fiat stablecoin pairings rather than altcoin pairs. I am also using direct btc/usdt and not those eth and xrp and those major pair aside from these.

As probably many of you, I think a bullish scenario for bitcoin and alt are ahead of us after the halving. I'm trying to figure out which alt coins have the potential to pump the most in the following 6 months.

So I'm looking forward to read your opinion on this. Thanks guys!

We can't argue that those in the top coins will have such change but even though we knew such a thing, we can't still exactly pointing out whose gonna make such moves. Maybe I put neutral to all top coins in the market and for you to make sure about not being out from the trail, better to give some shots into ETH, BNB, and I included Bitcoin of course in my list. These coins are one of the leading market potentials, I have to give trust to them and besides, it was since from their existence.

I am currently researching the top alts and finding the most active alts. In my list of potential links, TRX, BNB. in which I will use a lot of money to buy BNB. As you know, Binance seems to be taking over the crypto market lately because bitcoin's trading volume has reached over $ 1.5 billion within a day. That number makes their profits more and more and CZ loves to blow up BNB. Besides, the community is also seeing a very bright future of Binance exchange. That's why I chose to buy and hold BNB until it returns to $ 33.

Isn't it that if BTC pumps, most altcoins follow? And if BTC dumps, again, most altcoins follow? If we were to completely neglect the influence of BTC with regards to which altcoin should pump, then isn't it quite impossible to determine? Halving affects only BTC imo, and any effect in the altcoin market is related instead to what happens to the BTC market. It isn't like the altcoins would experience the halving themselves. Only the BTC also has it, or at least, the one happening in the next days. Most of those altcoins affected by BTC would be those with huge communities or at least, the top 10 altcoins out there. You can always see them going up whenever BTC goes up tbh.

why would altcoin will pump when the event is for btc  ?

so btc should be the coin that pump but still questionable due to many negative factors that are happening lately   . but if i could give an alt that i want to support for an increase then that would only be the alt that i hold the most which is  etherium   .  it doesnt makes sense to me to support an alt that i dont ever used   . if they gain something will i get benefit from them  ? nope  .

WRX will be the alts that I pay attention to first. It is a coin of exchange but it is established in India. Besides, CZ is the one who runs it and will definitely have more fomo actions. Besides, I realized that the community of Warizx exchange was very crowded and most people were fomo. This is a good signal for a strong pump in the long run, we can expect the price to increase by another 300% in Q4.

If there's another raging bubble literally everything will pump, even shit that simply doesn't work any more. The only requirement will be that it's tradable somehow.

Plenty of obscure shit will gain more than the big ones but there's no way of telling which they'll be.

Many will think 'it's different this time' and people will look for 'fundamentals' but they won't. it's only about number go up.

The altcoins will pump once bitcoin pumps, and remember— that's completely assuming that bitcoin will actually pump in the short-term in the first place, which I personally don't think will be the case.

If this happens, the altcoin pumps are pretty random, but I personally think that it will be the altcoins that has huge community backings. I'd rather just hold bitcoin though.

Usually when bitcoin start pump most of altcoins start pump. When bitcoin start dump at the same time altcoin start dump. So when bitcoin price will raise during halving occasion then we might see green color on most of altcoins coins. But unfortunately I am assuming there would happen sudden dump after the halving and as a result most of alt would be dumped as well. So don't expect any pump for any specific coin because we don't know what is going to happen in near future. Otherwise you might get REKT.

I agree with the above post. No one knows if what will happen to altcoin in the future if they are going to pump or not. The price of altcoins always depends on demand and supply.

But I think most of the major coins will also increase if the price of bitcoin increases after block halving. I don't know for other altcoins but major coins will increase too when the price of bitcoin increase like ethereum which is already mentioned above.

I don't see any potential altcoin as of now because I think the price movement right now is different compared to the last block halving.
Most of the traders these days are using stable coins(USDT, TUSD as sample) or directly exchange to fiat. It's not the same before that most of the traders trading with other altcoins to preserve value as what they do when exchanging it to any stable coin.
So the future to potential coins is unpredictable.

No one really knows!

If we do presume out that bitcoins price will shoot up after halving or on several months after then we can say the possibility that alts would really be on the run too
but its not an assurance because we have seen that not all the times alts prices do correlate with btc but most of the time they do react on the same trend on
what btc could do but for now i dont hope that much if there would be some significant price pumps in several months or years.

If the value of bitcoin increases, then most of all altcoin value will also follow the price of bitcoin.

The scenario will be like this:
Went value fiat bitcoin increase, the value altcoin BTC pair will be decreased and the value of altcoin with fiat pair or estimation will be an increase. The rally altcoin will be started after the rally of bitcoin was stoped and on sideway condition, the first step altcoin will try to back his original price on BTC pair due to the rally of bitcoin all altcoin value with BTC pair decrease. The rally will begin went altcoin can break his original price before the BTC pair is decreasing during the rally BTC, can't really say which altcoin will be the most increase but went altcoin party started most of the altcoin on coin information all on green condition markets.

I think the price of Ethereum, Litecoin, EOS and BNB will go up after the halving process. Ethereum is already preparing for a new network update, as we all know, and the price is likely to increase with this update. Although Litecoin has been very popular lately, its price is very affordable and it is a cryptocurrency preferred by investors. For this reason, I think it will be probable that the price will increase due to the rising demand. Although EOS has performed poorly in the past few months, it is a special cryptocurrency by technology and I think it will be valued after the halving process. On the other hand, finally, I think that CZ will use this process well and increase the price of BNB by manipulating the market well.
