I believe he or they are closely watching BTC and are aware of the price. I also think they made it to show the world another way, to make a point, not to become rich on it. That actually happened like a side effect. They won't cash it out as they stand against banking and inflated fiat currencies. They will be waiting for the moment when it takes over and we're able to use cryptos everywhere.
Also, I believe there are more addresses that belong to Satoshi and his associates. These are scientists who wanted to experiment. I believe they had multiple wallets and multiple addresses and aren't some poor people in need of cashing out. Besides, they know that if they sold their coins the big experiment would be over. People would turn it into headlines like "the creator is taking his leave".

Bitcoin is clearly at its best right now. The demand never stops and people are still buying it. This will make another price rally probably in 2018 as well. The growth will never stop. Can you imagine? Bitcoin passed lots of leader companies in terms of market capitalization.

You know that there is many things to determine the value of something right? Yes Bitcoin right now is worth over 10,000$ a piece but it does not mean that it is more valuable than 1 stock of company, you cannot even determine the real value of something even just by looking at its market cap. Remember that we cannot be too complacent about Bitcoin going up we need to always be on the safe side and always monitor the prices as we might be going in another direction in one moment.

Personally, as a person currently living in a third world country, cryptocurrencies are actually less accessible. As expected on a third world country, poverty rates are almost always high. Some people couldn't even afford 2 decent meals a day, what more a mobile phone and internet connection? Also, a $.1 transaction fee might not be much for some of us, but that's a significant amount for most people in 3rd world countries.

But yeah considering bitcoin's status as a prime investment right now, being more valuable than lots of other companies is not such a surprise.
