I would never do this.

The people who own the site could make alt accounts & use inside knowledge on how the algorithm functions to consistently win against other players.

I have seen rigged crypto sites that did similar things in the past.

Years ago there was a website similar to jeopardy where a person could compete with others to win crypto. The guy who owned the website would actively participate and win, because he knew all the answers to the questions.

PvP (player versus player) may not be a good format unless there's real fairness and quality assurance.

PvE (player versus environment) tends to be more fair and I would guess most would prefer it.

P.S. And yes, it is a probably scam. The topic starter has no positive nor negative reputation or trust level.

Was wonder why OP did placed this? I guess this is a clear message that the community is beginning to be a really hostile one to everybody with an ounce of an idea left in them.

@OP, I do hope you still create whatever you are making. You just have to create some sort of announcement thread that would disclose every fact about your project and probably you'll get enough interest with it.

So, the deposit/withdrawal system with account balance could be good and well-known solution for the problem?
Yup, make the game offchain so your players won't be forced to spend more on fees just to get confirmations. If you want you could wait until august before launching your game so you don't have to add this system

I like the idea and i like the systematic way on how the lottery-based gambling do work but i would frankly say that better to seek of on other gambling games than on lottery because it wont really give you decent amount number of players here on this forum because mostly will just ignore this one, there are lots of site or owners do tried out on making lottery based but all of them do fail or dont tend continue even more because of lack of interest.

Dice is the most popular gambling game here. But I find OP's idea interesting. This game is just like on the raffle game in collectible section. Winner takes all the bet. It will be a good idea if the price is not just the total amount of bet but a fixed big price just like a normal lottery mechanics. IMO, I preferred a lottery that has only one draw each day. So far. I can't see a gambling site with lottery game with same mechanics on the original lotto style. Cheesy
I think he has a concept that is not much different with the lottery but the difference is the winner here is only one, it's different lottery that can be won by some players. Yes you are right maybe lottery is better because some players can win it if guessing number correctly.

Yes this could be solution if you are only willing to accept bitcoin for deposits another solution for you could be opening similar lottery site and accept other alts along with bitcoin so that if anyone wants to play in your site but don't like to pay hefty bitcoin tx fee they can use LTC, ETH, ETC like coins with cheaper tx fee.

2) every user who wants to take part in a draw, sends transaction (amount of B) and provides a server with some SHA-hash (it doesn't necessary to be unique) and BTC address he'd like to receive payouts to
3) when whole number of bets accepted (N), bankroll for the draw is N*B, an algorithm (Algorithm) makes a score table of all users/transactions took part in a draw, and server exposes it's secret

With current state of Bitcoins blockchain, on-chain games seems like a bad idea. People would have to pay the highest fees to get their bets confirmed, because you can't accept unconfirmed transactions due to double-spending risks. Some people are already unsatisfied  that they have to pay high fees for simple depositing and withdrawing funds, but paying 0.005-0.001 BTC or more for every bet is just ridiculous. Ethereum got pretty high fees too, and the network can be unstable sometimes. You will have to use some other altcoin if you want to solve the issue with transaction fees, which will also reduce the amount of potential players.

Hi again!

I have set a Discord server up, where I plan to run few early rounds of game before actually making a ton of software.
Please join the server by this link: https://discord.gg/5DTaFEY

I've described the game rules. Real "how to" and "provably fairness checker" is coming.

Just need your opinion about what crypto-currency do you prefer for gambling? and do you ready to play early for real money, or we could try for some kind of "credits"?

Names "dicedicedice" but wants to implement a lottery base game but I am not making fun of you here and why not a lottery game be successful? even if Dice games are more popular I think it is on the sites uniqueness for people to try it, I think you need to research more about the lottery games here and try to make yours out of the ordinary and I think it will make a good impression if you do that, and I think you should go for it and if you can try and make a demo testing here in the forum and we can try it, I think a lot of comment is necessary for you to make it perfect.
This is what on my mind too, asking for lottery ideas which his name is dicedicedice, which is contradicting.  Grin. Its a good move for op to make some test out phase for the entire community so that we can able to know on how it would work and goes as planned because lottery based games isnt too popular on this forum,If this one would caught attention then it might be possible to get some players.

Actually the idea is simple with huge prize if much people join the draw. It's need unique features which can support the system, it's like the interface, motion or other system features.
Also don't just bitcoin, altcoin is more sought today.

I think you should demonstrate your idea.

Hi!

I have an idea of a lottery-based provably fair game. I invented a provably fair algorithm for this game, and I made a little prototype with command-line interface. And I stuck on what to do next. Behind me is a team of developers and support guys and three companies (not related to gambling) operating in USA, Norway and Russia. I have a passion to implement this game, but I want to check if the game ever could be popular and will have interest to play by you, BitcoinTalk people! If it is true, we'd be glad to implement it and to give investors nice opportunity to take their piece of sweet pie.

I have already played this game with friends, but they say that all this stuff with SHA256 hashes is really hard to understand and/or to explain. On the other side, I have and idea of casual setting to make all this stuff easy to understand, while keeping it transparent and fair-checkable by anyone.

I'm in very strong need of your feedback about the idea!

The game is dead simple:
1) draw starts when server shows it's server hash, bet size (B) and number of bets (N) to accept in a draw
4) The first user/transaction in the score table takes all the bankroll (so, odds can be extremely high, like Nx, considering N is a dozens or thousands)
5) During the draw everyone can see a list of already accepted bets and hashes along with corresponding transactions.

The security and fairness of Algorithm relies on "avalanche effect" of hashing function being used internally, and I will show it later.

I'd like to invite you to internal testing! Any feedback is much appreciated.

P.S. And yes, it is a probably scam. The topic starter has no positive nor negative reputation or trust level.
