this should be an example of what the driver receives with payment for his services using bitcoin, if bitcoin is properly adopted in the country this will be a good example for bitcoin as a legal transaction tool for any payment, and what happens today we hope will continue with the use of bitcoin as a transaction tool

You do not need any adoption by the government to start using them. If you are doing business and if you want to deal in cryptocurrencies then there is nothing much to worry about cashing out as long as the local exchanges are active because you can cash them out easily.

I have seen a similar thread about a driver in India accepting Bitcoin and i think this is the same news or has it become a trend that everyone started to accept cryptocurrency.

This is certainly a very good thing and I think it should be imitated by some other professions as well.
regardless of how much is received, whether small or large it doesn't matter, the most important thing here is that we know that crypto can be done by all people and the adoption of bitcoin does not only depend on big companies and big investors but also small investors can do it, the most important thing are intentions and desires.

Basically, they can double their gains if they got their payment when the market is bearish and continue to hold every bitcoins they got until the bull market. They can do that because they still receiving most of their payments in fiat and that's a good move for them because they got some opportunity to increase their crypto assets while working their daytime job. I hope it will become more trend so everyone will increase on paying using cryptocurrencies.
definitely, it's a good way to accumulate bitcoin for an investment, wherein instead of buying it through any third party that you need to pay for fees or something, if that picture took before the bitcoin start to bullish and that driver collected a lot of bitcoin, for sure he's now a millioner...just imagine the price now if you really own a big amount of bitcoin before it rocketed , you're now a instant millioner . Lol

I didn't know that India has finally changed their stance regarding bitcoin, last time that I've heard, India was still on the prohibition of bitcoin but it seems that it's a welcoming one. Totally agree that this can help with the local community promotion of bitcoin.

It was not an official announcement. Rickshaw drivers are not like Uber or Lyft drivers and can basically ask for any payment they want and they don't have employers or anything like that. Usually, it's cash, but this also means that since other countries use rickshaws as a kind of public transportation (I know Sudan does), educating them about cryptocurrencies can make them easily adopt them as a form of payment, especially since most riders carry Android phones. A lot of them still carry Nokias though so that's going to be a hurdle for them though.

This is such an awesome development considering the previous tensions of the Indian government against cryptocurrencies. I just hope that the Indian government would finally come up with something that would successfully regulate cryptocurrencies than just instant ban without doing some deep research or consulting with the experts and the community.

A couple of years ago in the Philippines, I ride a taxi one time and it accepts mobile payments. I was thinking back then if they could accept cryptocurrencies later on, and one day they will. I’m gonna believe that.

I believe I have seen this news before and the person who took this photo is also a member of bitcointalk. I am not able to find it  now, apologies!

This is exactly what people need so that bitcoin thrive in its own ecosystem. Those big whales and pump-and -dump players don't mean anything. But such kind of adoption is actually a granular level adoption which we will need to see.

But unfortunately, Indian government is planning to impose a blanket ban on cryptos very shortly. I am worried that the auto driver shouldn't be arrested for accepting bitcoin.

It is really amazing. Bitcoin gone viral now. In India, crypto currency is legal. So, anyone can use and store crypto currency. And its the best way to promote bitcoin with the local community who did not know what is bitcoin and how can we use it as a payment method. Now, internet is everywhere and we can use crypto currency only on internet. But in this way peoples know that crypto currency is a safe currency for making payments.

We observe the situation when network transaction fee cost more than a regular rickshaw fare. Google say that ride usually cost 25-50 cents. Drivers must point particular currencies they accept, otherwise, they also would have to wait before they have enough crypto for withdrawal and exchange to fiat.

But I think that was more a joke than a serious intention to accept crypto as a fare payment. Or the trick was to ask, for example, 1 USDT or 5 doge or 1 XRP for a ride, making price higher than usual fare price.

Drivers will meet all kinds of people every day, and it is inevitable that they will meet people who don't understand encryption. This is to popularize cryptocurrency for everyone.
People who may not understand cryptocurrency will study cryptocurrency after this. This is a good way to promote cryptocurrency. Wink

There is  already a thread about this picture which is here in "Increasing acceptance level - Cryptocurrency" https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/increasing-acceptance-level-cryptocurrency-5352765

If it going viral will also make drivers interested in cryptocurrency, it will start an adoption. Which cryptocurrency did he mean by this? He should just add BTC not any other else. India is a huge country with a huge population, therefore they could influence prices like China if they are just going to take advantage of this industry.

I have also encountered this viral picture. And it feels great knowing that cryptocurrency has already reached a certain group of people who could have been perceived otherwise as not techy enough. Drivers are usually spending long hours of the day looking for passengers, picking them up and bringing them to their destinations. It somehow feels amazing that a driver has spent time understanding how cryptocurrency basically works and actually adopted it.

This is one of the best ways to do it if you want cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, by just simply doing this, it is already a huge help for adoption. People who will see this poster will be curious what is "cryptocurrency" and they will start to research it.
Some people may say this is not effective or they will laugh on it but I believe small things matter.

This is great, its stories like this which highlights the advantage bitcoin [and crypto]
can give to anybody and everybody to be their own bank and to be able to accept
payment for goods and services without the need for a 3rd party like a bank or credit
card provider which also attracts handling charges.

Going forward more and more people will realise this

Weeks back itself it was viral around and portrayed the increase in the acceptance of cryptocurrency within India. This went as a big news because of India standing against the usage of cryptocurrency in the earlier years. It also banned the usage of cryptocurrency in India. Also discussed in the thread Increasing Acceptance Level - Cryptocurrency.

This is pleasantly surprised because I don't think I have seen any such stuff in public transport like accepting those crypto payments. But if the citizens in India have started to accept it then its really nice to see as the acceptance will further grow and people will make payment in crypto too.

We know that Indian government gives permission to use crypto currency. And then lots of people are involved on this crypto currency which is normal. And lots of company like e-commerce or online platform, maybe a little number of physical shop accept crypto as a payment system.

But this picture surprised the whole india. A auto rickshaw driver holding a paper inside his auto rickshaw where quota " We accept cryptocurrency. " Someone tweet this picture what i give in top. After that this post have gone viral on Internet. Though the autorickshaw driver is still unverified.  But its truely a surprising.

Where autorickshaw drivers always want cash because there payment is less so cash is good for them and also they don't have enough tech knowledge. But we generally seen them they can take payment in mobile banking which a little easy.

But crypto for a auto-rickshaw driver its a huge revolution. What do you think guys. Any opinion about this brother means auto-rickshaw driver. I saw a posetive vibe and you guys.
