Zebpay is a start, but i don't think that could boost bitcoin usage in india. We don't have any bitcoin business covering the world, All bitcoin start ups in India concentrates and does business within india, maybe a few percentage of its users are from other countries.

So if few bitcoin services and companies which could run successfully with diverse customers, then i would say its a start. I would like to see some Indian companies like zebpay, unocoin, btcxindia and exchanges like coinsecure, btcxindia to have users from all around the world.

If such things happen India might play a significant role in bitcoin.

Bitconist.net come up with another positive article about future impact of India on bitcoin ecosystem.

Apparently Bitcoin is viewed as great asset by companies like Zebpay and that attitude works like magnet for other crypto companies which want their share of the market as well.

India soon might be 2nd biggest (after China) Asian country where bitcoin infrastructure is located.

Come to think of it, Bitcoin is making head-roads in countries with large population. The population of India and China alone is like 1/3 of the whole world.

I'm sure that soon India will create strong competition in China Bitcoin mining. The country has great potential, large population and cheap labor

This will be only for Indian people. In fact all Web projects in India are only for Indians, foreigners even do not use them, and ~90% Indian Web site users are also all from India. I do not know any well known international Web project in India either with BTC or not.  Grin

India has great potential to fuel bitcoin market with new blood. That is a reason a new startups and bitcoin companies are needed there.

We need reliable company to be 'the face' of Bitcoin - it will bring more users to bitcoin network.

I am usually against virtual payment processors and adding even more satellite services - but this might be the way to popularize BTC.

Then we might switch to direct p2p model - in the way bitcoin was designed to be.

But I am afraid about Indian government regulations. They always come up with typical terms. One good example must be their regulations against PayPal and commercial debit cards. Many bitcoin entrepreneurs already faced severe regulations in India and I hope Zabpay will continue surviving there else Zabpay will not be India based then.

It is very exciting news.Zebpay has played a significant role in promoting bitcoin in India.Being one of the Zebpay user,I can say that bitcoin has potential to make it to one of the most successful start up

Clearly, it's good news to see India gaining more prominence in the Bitcoin landscape. By using Bitcoin there are huge opportunities of the Indian people to participate in world markets much easier - for example by marketing their goods and services directly to an international audience.

Just a few months ago, I didn't even know that Zebpay existed. Now - at least based on media reporting - it seems to have become some kind of big deal in the Indian Bitcoin market. That's rather surprising to me.

Naturally, I remain skeptical of all Bitcoin payment providers, because I'm convinced that the true Bitcoin use case is native P2P transactions. Payment providers only add fees, time lag and centralization to transactions that would otherwise flow directly between open source Bitcoin wallets. For Bitcoin to unfold its true potential we have to get rid of fiat conversion. For remittance applications that means it would be ideal if local companies in the destination countries would accept Bitcoin for payment for their goods and service, making fiat conversion obsolete...

According to reports, the company is talking to a number of Indian investors along with “a US-based venture capital fund which focuses on blockchain technology.”
Founded in 2012 originally as BuySellBitco.in, Zebpay offers a mobile Bitcoin wallet that allows users to buy and sell Bitcoin, store Bitcoin, along with the ability for those Bitcoins to be used to recharge mobile phone services and to buy eCommerce vouchers from sites such as Amazon, Flipkart, Makemytrip and more at a discount of up to 10 percent.
