Nothing lasts forever
I read this article today and it talked about scammers in India, it seems like a really interesting topic to explore further, but in your opinion why is it so common for there to be so many scammers in India, it doesn't seem so right to me, having said that I'll leave you the link to the article:

India has a wide range of scammers and to be honest, we can find scammers almost in every city in India.
People try to scam others in every possible way and all of this is obviously to earn easy money.
Since India has a large population, it becomes easier for these scammers to find a few victims in a day.

Haryana (Nuh District -Mini Pakistan- Operates in Delhi NCR to Punjab etc) and West Bengal are the usual suspects. These 2 clusters contribute more than 50% of cyber crimes in India.
By checking out Pirogi or NanoBaiter channels on youtube, you can get a pretty good idea about the number of call center scams that operate from these areas. Unfortunately as Indians, we are ashamed of the politics and law enforcement in this country which outsiders will keep calling us names for.

In a country where basic cyber awareness if lacking and people are drooling over reels everyday we cant expect much better form the mass public.

The reputation of our country globally gets hammered because of these scammers. Almost all scam call centers are operating in India. What I don't understand is why the employees of these call center do not leave such a job. If caught I guess thier career gets over and I believe the law in our country for such scammers is not that good to get these guys behind bar for life.

yes surely it is the only way to stop our country from being soiled by such people who commit scams for little money and do not bring anything beautiful and glorious to our country, surely poverty plays an important role and these guys do these bad things

Pirogi or NanoBaiter YouTube channels ka toh pata nahi but I hear a lot of chatters about Nuh District now and then, and scamming call centers is just one of the problems. It goes beyond that, extortion, kidnapping, narcotics, contract killing and religious fanatics top the list.

Laws are there, it's just no one likes to follow them and we shouldn't forget all our politicians, babus and judiciary are not airdropped but reflections of our society.

Large population comes with its own problems. High crime rate and people choosing shady jobs for living are just two of them. These kind of things become more evident when the government is too busy to satisfy their ego rather than creating enough jobs for the population. It's unfortunate but true!

That's why we say - India is not for beginners! The cyber security agency needs to be stronger to prevent such crimes happening in the future.
As far as I know, there are some clusters in India where scammers have their stronghold and they have the serious backing of corrupt politicians or call it negligence if not the proper backing. In response, The best they do is block crores of phone numbers every now n then.

yes, clearly, this situation was known, but they must be very young to do something like this, to commit computer crimes you need to be very skilled and therefore they are necessarily students who have taken to crime, without considering that in those regions it is easier given that there aren't many controls

India is one of the most populated country in the world and has the biggest young generation. Most of them are good with computers and that is why you will find scammers from India.

Although there no data to prove India has the largest number of scammers but if these big accounts do not put in place proper security measures to safe guard the account then anyone can get control of thier account. Recently a famous Youtuber from India faced the same problem.

I still remember 5 years back scammers were able to get access to many big YouTube channels globally after that incident YouTube did ask these big content creators to activate 2FA as an extra security layer on thier account. As of now most Google products now come with 2FA.

yes, in fact, with this I am not saying that in India we are all scammers at all, I am just reporting an article where we talk about this, certainly the large population means that there is a high crime rate and that these are necessarily the younger ones, so nothing to say we are also honest people!

Scammers try to locate high profile accounts to be able to access their followers as an impersonator.

It is not common in India, it is common all over the world. Keep in mind, Evil has no religion. This is why they targeted high profile celeb accounts on twitter and youtube.

Whatever be the case, we cannot stop them, we can only keep ourselves safe and educate others. For a start, stop following social media and consider everything you on the internet with a bag of salt.
