Bitcointalk will show you if a post was edited by underlining the time of the post with dashed lines. But it doesn't do show the edit history.

I am not aware that this can be done. Thanks!

Me either.  I just tested it and I'll be damned...  It works.  Now I may have to actually proofread my posts before I hit the post button instead of editing them all immediately afterward.

EDIT:  Just showing it works.  Umm....  I guess it doesn't work in every section.   Huh
There is a 10(?) minute grace period in which any edit will not show the dashed line.
Interesting, didn't know about the grace period. It really should be more obvious than the dotted line but there is another thread about that:

EDIT: Sounds like its more visible in the new forum.. and I'm testing the grace period on this forum! Grin   10 minutes it is...

On vBulletin forums, there are options to indicate to readers whether a post has been "Edited", and readers have the option to view the history of that amended post, the post author also has to key in a reason for amendment.

Suggest that Bitcointalk admins implement a similar mechanism. Smiley

As already pointed out by knightdk, the feature is already present.

Example : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.14967934
Do you notice the dotted underline below Today at 06:16:57 PM? If you hover your mouse over it you will be able to see the time of Last edit.

You will only be able to see the time of the last edit made. (IIRC past contents of an edited post and edits made can be viewed by a person with administrative privileges)
However if you made the edit before around 5 minutes after making the post, it will not show up.

Edit : 10 minutes
