@Bitbuddy60 also keep in mind people have been finding with some old coins like Microsoul the private keys under the hologram are bad.

Some like Sol Noctis have a somewhat convoluted process to redeem, but the process is known.

THERE might be some other coins that for whatever reason have not been discussed on the forum that also have some odd tricks that you have to do to redeem them. We don't know what we don't know. And if there are some oddball collectables out there that have not wound up here then you might have an issue. Stick to the known coin makers if possible.

-Dave

Agree the known coin makers best practice. If anyone has anything to share about makers private keys please post on this thread as well as it is dedicated strictly for coinmakers private keys!....   https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5505467

Depending on your host and the platform you are hosting it on you might be able to use a letsencrypt certificate. They are free. And free is good.

Dave...did not know that and will definitely look into it. Thanks and happy holidays to you and yours!

Well I'll be damned. How the f did I miss this one? Huh

Thanks 2stout!

I am going to go with if you didn't have one of the 2FA coins you probably skipped right over the thread.
Going with the info here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.20155313
There are probably under 50 that need the 2fa and are not peeled / redeemed already

Yes...I did not renew the SSL as I am not really selling anything thru there anymore. But thanks for pointing it out

Are you referring to the Titan 2fa coins? Then some Titan coins do not have private keys and yes you would rely on their site. Issues have been reported and there is an entire thread about this by Ty

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/titan-mint-coins-serious-issue-new-updates-5369583

That's the only one I'm aware of as well. Most other sites like https://alpencoin.ch and https://icarus-cards.eu that only have places to verify/lookup addresses?

@Krog, I went to your cypherhodl.com site, but there is no SSL active. is this normal? I didn't go past the warning, as I'm super-paranoid.  Huh

thanks!

edit - my browser may have defaulted to http, so maybe you just need a http->https redirect in cloudflare or wherever it's at. (?)

cheers!

i am not aware of any coins/projects that hide a code behind the holo instead of a private key and then use the code to generate the activation of the corresponding pk on their website
which coins exactly are you talking about?

Which loaded coins will require a site, to get a code to transfer the BTC to my wallet. My concern is someone passes and funds are lost.
