Hi all, I did fix the language. Turns out it's going off of the regional format. so you go "language support" > "Regional format". I actually liked it the way it was set because I liked the date format better, but it's not a big deal and better that I can read my wallet text. Also I rest my computer after making the changes.

^Bitcoin Library of Congress.
Also is it possible to change the path to where I want to store the block chain? I'd like to put it on an external hdd.
The command option -datadir=you_directory (with your_directory replaced with the directory you want) can be used to change the bitcoin directory.
