Congrats, Debian is the universal operating system : )

If unable to compile yourself (which is not hard) you can just download the precompiled bundle from the official Bitcoin website.

If i remember correctly, last time i used add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin

Worked perfectly...

I guess that's for Ubuntu and not for other linux versions.

Ubuntu is essentially a debian variant, if its works for ubuntu chances are high that it works on debian. However OP wants to compile from source, so the PPA would not be the way to go.

@OP , the post was made one week ago so It should be functional today I don't think it got outdated within one week lol ... So you should tell us the errors you are getting because "not working" doesn't help much .

I tried installing bitcoincore lately on my laptop and followed this tutorial but it seem not working.

I wanna install once again my this desktop which is a debian linux. can anyone confirm if this tutorial still applicable today?
