By using AppImage you will avoid many dependencies problems.
just download the .appimage from https://electrum.org/#download and verify signature.

Move AppImages into a standard location
From terminal, locate to that file run chmod a+x
Or click on  "properties" then click on "Permissions" tab then "Allow executing file as program."

Did you try to just use the AppImage? It may run and would save you a lot of time and hassle.
Just make sure you get it from the official website and check the signature.

i tryed to install electrum 4.4.3 on fedora 36; could not get it to install, i think maybe i dont have the right cammands. is electrum 4.4.3 too modern for fedora 36? is this a question better asked on the fedora forms?
