I'm bumping this thread because I'm considering using Coinswitch to buy some RDD (don't laugh at me, I beg you).  I can't use ShapeShift as I'm in the US, and none of the other big exchanges offer the coin except Yobit, and I don't feel like using them.

Has anyone used Coinswitch recently and if so, what was your experience?  Anyone have any problems with them?  I did read the link to the Reddit thread above, but that was pretty useless.  I don't feel like getting ripped off by some fly-by-night exchange and I'm skeptical about crypto exchanges in general to say the least.

Thanks, everyone.

I can't seem to find anything that indicates that Coinswitch is a scam, just a few complaints that more exchanges have to deal with. You can do a test transaction with the minimum they allow you to convert to see if it's legit or not. Their web ranking looks good and they kept growing throughout the last months, which is a positive sign.

RDD chart however looks nasty. It has has broken through its support this year and is currently going through a freefall. Wouldn't surprise me if this ends up well under 10 sats. Don't catch a falling knife.

Coinswitch is one of the default deposit options on Metamask. I doubt Metamask would add them if they're not on the same level as Shapeshift. I never use them but one of my long-term holds is available there and several users were trading via this aggregator, so far there are no explicit scam accusations yet. Just complains about their fees/rate that might be higher than if you directly buy from an exchange.

I can't answer your question regarding Coinswitch, but RDD is traded on Bittrex. In fact, Bittrex has the largest RDD/BTC market of any exchange: https://international.bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-RDD.

If you don't have a Bittrex account yourself, there are probably plenty of people on the forum with one who would be willing to make the trade for you for a small fee. Probably a safer option than using a two-bit exchange with a bunch of fake reviews.

There is no imprint or company name for this site to be found.
The Whois does not show the company too, the "company" is hidden.
Serious exchanges dont work like this, at least its a shady practice...

There are a few complaints about ĆoinSwitch.co.
g.e.: http://www.844bankbtc.com/coinswitch-review-coinswitch-scam/

Surprising many good reviews and inbetween again and again scam accusations.
You know its easy to create daily 5 positive paid reviews....

I dont say its a scam, but recommend to do your own research before sending anything there.

If you loose, there is no company published to sue...its anonymous.
Just only some linkedin accounts....

I have used the platform and I have no problem. Once I had messed up with memo. I messed up when transferring a large sum (totally my fault) of crypto. I contacted support and they corrected the transaction allowing me to recover the full amount. I can't thank them enough!

Their support replied in no time and resolved it this was the thing that impressed me.

By the way, coinswitch writes on its site, they have made:
Quote
With the experience of executing over 1 million crypto coin exchanges we offer the best and a reliable service to our partners and users to convert crypto coins.

Sorry, more than 1Million transactions(Trades) have been made on this site. That number is very, very high and difficult to believe.
So they probably have already made many millions USD profit. But still no company existing or published? No Office, no Taxnr? Strange...

If you can explore more reviews it would be good. Because I had read good reviews before I used it. And one of my friend had also referred me.

-snip-

Their ANN thread seems to be pretty dead, and it didn't receive that much traction throughout the years.. -- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2041972.20

Also it seems like there are some people on their subreddit having issues; https://www.reddit.com/r/coinswitch/comments/b7cklj/did_i_loose_my_coins/

I'm not too sure if they're a scam or legit, but one thing is for sure, they really suck at marketing and communicating with their customers (from what i can see online), which is usually a bad sign, especially when  there's lots of competitors in this field to choose from.

E: They have a decent alexa rating thouigh; https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/coinswitch.co
