If true, it's unbelievable how they took advantage of consumers, for so many years. Grrr! Angry

It's plausible I haven't seen much in terms of processor speed increases from my old model laptop with over-clock settings to newer models that lack that feature. But like all good capitalism luckily it was corporate espionage that saves the day instead of well you know collusion.
That said this was a great April Fools play from extremetech he-he or was it ^^.

(Now if only we could fix those darn mobile carriers and their expensive monthly plans ^^)

Look at the prices of the Iphone but individually the whole components used to make the phone itself cost 1/3 of the total phone cost. They are indeed inflating the prices. Whats wrong with pricing it at least twice the amount you spend to make the phone. So greedy these corporations SMH.

Stop buying it? Lols

It all boils down to marketing. It's super-effective. Look at them sheep line up as if entering an abattoir. Heck, I've even seen them keep vigil at night waiting for the store to open.

Funny that some decades ago it was Apple accusing PC users of being mindless, boring sheep...

True, true, true and true! Capitalism brought as many conveniences that we usually just take for granted. The ability to set-up private businesses helps people get up the social ladder. But yes, people can be quite greedy. It's even been said that the current set up favor psychopaths rising to CEO position.

We really need the gov't to ensure these business don't gouge out people but the problem is that even gov't can be quite prone to corruption.

Is it really unbelievable that powerhouses in the industry would collude together to fix pricing or some other element of their business to gain more revenue at the expense of the customer?

No.

I love capitalism. I love business. But businesses are run by people, and some people cheat, lie, and steal.

The bigger offense to all of us is how Government's cheat, lie, and steal.
