Unfortunately it's too much, so it is quite time-consuming to delete it manually. So… Sometimes I let it be even I don't like it.

Yup, I can relate to it too. The least it could do is to slightly boost the site ranking since every comment counts as an interaction.

What I think is it is very essential that you read others’ blog posts and leave insightful comments. Some people leave generic comments on every post. I never prefer someone to do that. Write meaningful comments. When you read others’ posts, you get many ideas and you also get familiar with different writing styles. It’s also a very good learning and evolving method. Success in blogging comes only by developing a good network with fellow writers. Interaction is the key to success in blogging.

The problem with "blogs" apart from being misused from its original purpose, is that as communication platform is way too vertical. I have to "go to your blog" to read you, rather than go to a place where we could share a common subject (such as this forum or the reddit like sites).

I mean, you expect me to "follow" gazillion random blogs out there? Not gonna happen. This model cannot scale up. This is also the fundamental reason some "social media" is also wrongly designed. Only "super stars" might get enough attention to get followers, but there cannot be a million super stars. And if you start following everyone, you will read none.

As a informational service (not like internet cares) blog meant: Bio Log. It was supposed to be your diary experience written in a site.

Honestly, i rather people stopped making "blogs". It is incredibly hard to make YOU make ME read your blog. In practice i'll just ignore them, like most of social media. If per chance you write something really interesting, then perhaps by search engine magic, i might come to your site for that specific thing once. And you will be very lucky. Many blogs are even cheating others, doing the equivalent of a retweet.

So in principle i don't visit blogs. I'm more topic/subject focused, not people focused. And who are you to want me to focus in you anyway? Sorry, my time is not infinite, blogs (and most social media) are. Its like Facebook, keep scrolling down, you will die of old age before the thing ends (or maybe the company closes first).

It seems to me that it’s more important that your blog is more meaningful, and what comments you get is not so important. Because you did everything to convey any important information to people. Therefore, the main thing is to be a professional in your field and write really useful articles.
Most people will leave insignificant comments anyway. In addition, sometimes people just want to thank for the article or express their sincere emotions after reading.

Yes, write comments, questions, and discussion on an interesting topic with any blog that helps you increase your knowledge and get new ideas and this makes you an experienced writer. Also, if you write a comment and put the name or link of your blog below your comment, you will get people interested in your blog field and they will share their comments on your posts and you will get backlinks to your blog. But I do not recommend insightful comments because it is a usual method by spammers, Bloggers delete these comments because they are mostly links to their blogs without a useful comment.

Those generic comments are written because they think that this is going to be a promotion to their "name/brand".
However, this works the other way. If someone writes something meaningful it will get more respected and will show that he is knowledgeable - leading to a better network.

Yes, that's how a network should work! However, unfortunately most people forget such important aspects. Most people are too selfish and leave comments solely for their benefit.

The word blog sounds so 2000-ish Cheesy Reminds me of the old days of Blogspot and Chatbox.

Ha ha ha

Back on topic. @loyoung, are you referring to other bloggers who leave their links in the comments? Yup, those are pretty annoying,

Of course, I didn't do that. In one of the cases I've experienced, In the past I joined the blogging community, I asked for their criticism and suggestions about my writing on my blog, but, as I said, they didn't do that, they just promote their blog.

but the author could either set some filter to disallow links or manually remove spammy ones.

You are right as a blog owner interacting with other blog writers is a bad thing and sometimes the links they provide are scammed. We should make various reports to stay away from them. Because human development grows generally speaking to each other and after different places Now the number of blogs has decreased.

It's annoying, blog writers sometimes just write junk comments that contain the address/link (promote) their blog in the comments of other people's blog posts.

Exactly. This should be the basic thing that must be maintained by the bloggers.
