Maybe use them for a crypto art project?

No addresses = paper weights

Does Smoothie have addresses on file or is there a list somewhere?

So sad the public addresses are lost, I would love to have these if they are functional wallets. I understand that they have to have activity to be able to look up short bits, Mike should have loaded every coin with a very small fraction of btc so they could always be looked up by short bits and have enough to cover transactions cost when someone sends the amount designated to be funded in the coin to another address.  Example : Mike loaded each coin with 0.00002 btc so now that short address can be traced and if it is a coin that is supposed to be loaded with .0.01 btc when the owner of the coin peels it and sends the btc to another address the whole 0.01 btc show up in that address .   (Hope this is correct and makes sense)

I suggest a LIFO auction, let's see how much these paper weights are worth Cool

They look good. So some will probably bid just to have some. You also bid on peeled coins.

If I am not mistaken I bought some a 30$ at some point. So maybe 1000$ if all sold to people like me Grin

yep - checked all the ones in did in the past (buyer funded) and they all had transaction records. I assumed once public address was set up on the chain is was traceable via firstbits, but see now it's only ones with tx history.  Appreciate info / education, thanks  MoparMining, sorry ejd i was hoping for work around to be able to make offer if I could have funded.

(Sorry if dumb question), but since addresses where set up from Lealana to be buyer funded, can't you use something like walletexplorer or blockchain explorer to enter firstbits visible through window to get public address? I though it was safe to do on Casc and Lealana coins...or is it not proper to rely on just firstbits on these?

the hard part is that the addresses have no txns on them, those type of explorers are querying addresses that have txns. Also, it is even possible to have multiple different addresses with the same first bits.

that is unfortunate, and being that they are not precious metals accompanied with the fact that the addresses are lost, they may not be worth very much at all.

Trust me, I wish I had the addresses, but I’ve seen singles sell on here from time to time for a decent price. Maybe I’ll break them up, as it doesn’t seem they come up too often.

the holograms are applied - you said something about the private keys are missing - the private keys would be under the hologram - if they have not been peeled then the private keys should be in tact.

are you meaning to say they are missing the addresses? if so the first bits are also on the hologram - correct?

if these were funded, it should be possible to get the address.

I guess I used the wrong terminology here. The private keys are fine as they are under the holo, the missing piece is the public address. These coins were unfunded and have 'Buyer Funded' lasered in from Smoothie when he initially sold these.

Hi all,

Just gauging some interest here. I've been collecting these over the years and may be interested in letting some or all go.

They do NOT come with the Full Address.  None of these coins have been peeled and all are inside an airtight capsule, and have been for years.

I'd be interested in separating them if needed, or all to a single buyer.

Would there be some interest in something like this?
