Thanks for sharing that one, wasn't aware of it. Looks like poloherb put a fair bit of time into that site, but I think there is potential to improve the interface. It seems to be based on wordpress which can make it a little harder to improve and update in future, a custom built solution should offer better features. I'm going to continue building it, as there is one untapped idea that requires this data to be in place before it can work.

Cheers OgNasty, I'll definitely take up your offer for information in the next week or so.

You were close my CMS is Joomla.
Willing to accept help, at the moment I'm alone. I do not see any interest from the forum users.
Do not expect that someone will published for you, pictures and descriptions. It's really a lot of work. If you copy teks or photos, you will have a problem with copyright.

You're welcome Poloherb.  I thought you did a great job.

I will agree with you that it takes a lot more work than people realize.  In helping with the Encyclopedia, I had to research tons of threads and websites to find mintage or other stats, since there was no central place to get the info.  Then retake lots of pics, often when lighting didn't cooperate with shiny coins or holograms.   It took weeks of work to get together all the info and pics together, not to mention all the writeup done by elianite on our end.   Then more weeks to edit and refine everything so its in good shape.

Agreed on the text and photos too.  OP...you will need to create your own original content and pictures, and not take intellectual property from elsewhere, unless you get written permission.

I'd definitely find it useful, a good online reference with as many physical BTC as possible with descriptions, pictures, denominations, material, minting numbers, etc.
Good pictures are not so common for the most rare items so yes having some contributions would help.

Great idea, good luck and looking forward to it. There will be a lot of work going into this.

Hello Folks,

I started collecting crypto coins a couple years ago and have always been fascinated by these storage devices that sort of bridge the gap between the physical & virtual world. Many beautiful items have spawned in that time so the demand must be high, however I've always found it difficult to get a reference for some of the rarer items around. It usually involves searching these forums to find long lost threads or even ending up at the dead website link of a previous manufacturer.

There was a hard back book released recently which helped address this situation and the digital version when released in full will be also be very useful. However I think there is room for a more frequently updated and flexible source of information - so I started building Item Ace. It is still in the very early stages, as I'm programming the structure for it right now.

The key factors will be decent photos of the cryptocurrency objects, denominations, weight, measurements, mintage quantities. There will be listing pages so you can browse by supplier and a basic search function. It can lead on to another project that will be valuable to the community but will keep that for later.

Now before fully taking the plunge, does anyone else see this being useful? Is there anything else that should be included? Will people be willing to contribute original photographs and input?

It will be made flexible enough to display different crypto currencies, no value items (unloaded, disassembled), artwork and non-coin categories.
