Auction can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5221706.new#new

Thanks again all for your input, I really did take everybody's thoughts into consideration but felt this is in my best interest (and most people here too).

I'd be willing to buy for 225 XMR. This is the latest price I've seen for similar item.

I'd play the raffle but what happens if you don't sell all the tickets?

Normally what other people have done in the past is they do “raffleceptions”. Basically a raffle to win some tickets for the main raffle and runner ups get an entry for the next raffleception.

It gets to be a pain in the ass though if that’s what you are asking lol Cheesy

Here is my opinion: Raffle One Item at a Time

- Do one Item at a time
- Ticket will be cheaper and more people will be able to participate because most people cannot effort larger set.
- You will get your value out quickly
- Raffle is for fun more than value vs auction is for serious business. YOU decide.

Lets Rock N Roll

Ehh I think at this point I’m convinced if I was doing a raffle I will be keeping them as a set. I will split if I’m doing an auction and incentivize people to win the whole thing because I think it would be interesting to see a real valuation on each coin (I’ve never seen a set be split).

I’ll make a decision sometime soon, by the end of tomorrow at the latest.

More interested in this decision than Kawhi and KD’s offseason decisions combined

This set is beyond the price range for a lot of us on this board. I've dabbled in raffles here and there (I'm not a gambler), but for this set I would make an exception and enter the lottery. The reward is just too good.

Your coins your choice but I don't care for raffles and would never participate in one. Just like I don't buy lottery tickets. I get it, you are trying to maximize your profit but it would be a shame to break up the 100/50/25 silvers so I would be bidding on that set if auctioned with bids in bitcoin. So I would vote you either a) auction everything in one lot or b) do two auctions to run simultaneously with the 100/50/25 silvers in one lot and the rest in a second lot. Good luck with the sale whatever you decide.

See personally I don’t like the idea of bulking a bunch of things together in a lot (besides something that’s a set like the xmr coins), because I’ve gotten screwed a couple times in the passed when I’ve tried it.

So a question to the people who prefer an auction... How do you like the idea of letting people bid on individual coins, but people are incentivized to win the complete set by giving some free goodies to the person who wins all three? So like in my example in the OP, if the winner wins the full set they get the 5 xmr brass and spesmonerujo notes. (Obviously willing to change as needed)

Like I get this ends up being my decision and all, but I want to do the thing that makes the most people happy to participate in because that will probably end up being more fun for people plus probably end up being the most profitable for me as well in the long run.

You can do something like this to auction the 3 coins separately but give the incentive to person if he/she wins all 3 coins.. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/auction-beautiful-set-of-all-matching-kialaras-99-moon-hydra-and-gold-5154820

2 prizes.....  The silver set as first and the rest for second.

I also think 2.5BTC is a huge premium for whoever posted that..... the last silver set sold for 225 XMR.

I didn't post it, alaknob did the "rough" maths lol... But I wouldn't part with my set for less myself. That auction was shit, I agree, but these coins are some of the finest crypto coins made, IMO, and if you truly believe in Monero, they are worth hodling, if possible. Wink

So my reasoning with wanting to do a raffle was primarily to help justify a price increase for the set. By itself I probably value the set way more than what it’s probably worth. By throwing in some other stuff in there, it helps me (in my mind) to justify letting go of my dream set. I just got some extra things and set reasonable (more pessimistic) prices on them. Then I figured having a raffle with all the stuff I’m listing for a total of just over 2.5 is a reasonable number for everyone.

If people are interested I can really up the ante and include some more sexy stuff and bump up the price of the tickets a bit and create more prizes. I have a 10 year (yogg) polymerbit #13 serial, a 2014 kialara original, and a bunch more stuff if people would be interested in that (?).

Question: Are these the first Monero coins? If not Who is the first Monero coin maker and which year they came out because I am interested into the 1st edition as always.

AFAIK, The first actual Monero silver coins came from Cryptonic21, on his site cryptonic.net back in 2014. (These were not loaded, but very nice nonetheless).

However, Smoothie/Lealana was the first to come out with loaded Monero coins a few years later.

Mega Raffle FTW!! Cheesy

Thank you all. I gotta have cryptonic then and I know exactly who has tons of that.

Any decision from the original thread owner for the raffle

I like the loaded 1000 xmr goldie (I think made by luigi) (only 10 made) predates smoothies loaded coins

Yeah he was one of the originial developers that was interested in it from the time XMR forked from bytecoin.   Cool guy and made a hella cool collectible.

Maybe just do the math in XMR for pricing etc.... then just give people the option to pay in BTC?  I'm sure an XMR hodler would want the majority of their XMR back. Wink

So for the possibility of doing the raffle, if I were to keep the set for the 1st place winner (which seems to be the popular opinion right now) how would you guys like to do the runner up prizes?

Agree with everyone else if you were to raffle - keep as a set. Nothing wrong with taking a chance for a super grand prize. Might even incentivize more people to buy a ticket Smiley.

The 100/50/25 coins belong together IMHO. And I am very sure the coins will miss their big brother and little sisters as well when separated  Smiley

Hey guys!

So today I'm thinking of letting go of one of my most prized collectibles.  Generally speaking, I just want to hodl more liquid crypto.

But I'm in a dilemma.  I know most people don't have enough spare funds to spend on a full XMR silver set, and I've heard before from some people in the community that they would love to have the opportunity to buy just one of these bad ass coins.  So I have two ideas running through my head.

Option 1)

Auction:  This would be a week long auction format priced in XMR with three lots starting at 25, 50 and 100 XMR respectively. Bid increments will be 0.5 XMR and whoever wins the 100 and 50 XMR coins will receive a mint error letter from Northwest Territorial Mint explaining the minting errors in those two coins, as well as the certification of funding from Smoothie for each coin.  If someone happens to win the full set, they will also receive a 5 XMR brass coin and a #7 Spesmonerujo loaded note set for FREE.  Also included will be the high resolution .jpg files from ICG (and the look mind blowingly detailed  Shocked )

Option 2)

Mega Raffle:  This would be a 256 ticket raffle (regular formate were last place is the first block found, and so on...) that will be 0.00995 btc/ticket and includes the following prizes:
1st prize: 100 xmr coin + Spesmonerujo set (plus cert, letter and .jpg file)
2nd prize: 50 xmr coin + 5 xmr brass coin (plus cert, letter and .jpg file)
3rd prize:  25 xmr coin + 1 mbtc binary bull coin (plus cert and .jpg file)
4rth prize: MCC set + Monero Polymerbit test note + 1/.5 xmr set (#49)
5th prize: (Yogg) December history cold card + The Economist "Trust Machine" magazine + Bitcoin Penny invisible roll

(some of the items not shown)

I'm going to let this thread go for a little while and put up a poll between the two.  I'm going to reserve the right to choose however I want to run it, but I will take into consideration the polling and the comments in the thread.

Thanks Smiley
