Last week when I brought it in to the Rolex dealer, they authenticated it by opening the back as they refuse to service fakes, and told me that after a full service an approximate appraisal would put retail price around $10-$12k and replacement insurance value at $15k.

I am quite surprised that they have rated this watch at $10-12k because these models currently go for $4-5k, and this particular model is not the most popular one among buyers.

Be cautious dealing with dealerships which rate the watch authenticity just by opening the back cover - an experienced Rolex technician can tell whether the watch is authentic or not just by holding it in his hand and visually inspecting close-up (especially if we are talking about 1998). I'd really like to know how much they charge for a service you've described. On the positive side, you will not encounter any problems finding a buyer (at an adequate price) because Rolex is especially popular in US, unlike other watch makes.

Damn. I guess i didnt do much research.
The full service is $1,000... And its there now, went to the official rolex shop.
I was told retail would be 10-12 with insurance at 15.

Well, with this info, i dont want to be offering this overpriced. And I dont want to sell it for 4-5k After I just dropped another 1k into it.

Its a sexy looking watch, it will now have a spot on my wrist...

I'm looking to trade my Rolex for Bitcoin and this post is to guage interest as I don't see these being sold on here.
___

___

___
It works and ticks great, all dial movements work. A couple of scratches in the sapphire crystal - Upper left and over the date magnification.
Wear your Rolex scratches with pride!

All imperfections will be removed shortly as I am bringing it in to get serviced from the official Rolex dealer. This will assure the watch is working in pristine condition and practically brand new: Replacing links, refinishing or replacing sapphire crystal, replacing internal components and spring, along with testing for waterproffness. They also provide an apprasial.
This also means It will be unavailable to sell for about 2-3 weeks

Last week when I brought it in to the Rolex dealer, they authenticated it by opening the back as they refuse to service fakes, and told me that after a full service an approximate appraisal would put retail price around $10-$12k and replacement insurance value at $15k.

This Rolex is roughly 20 years old made in the 1998 serial numbers.

What you would also receive:
- Original Box
- 2 Rolex cloths
- Original Rolex Warranty papers
- Original Purchase and Apprasial Papers
- New Servicing records and Apprasial Papers

I am looking to negotiate a price around $9,000 in Bitcoin
- I would also consider a combination of Bitcoin and Cash, Precious metals, or Certified Diamonds (w/papers).

Personally, I would prefer to meet in person somewhere in the U.S. as I could use a short vacation in some random city...
But I would also consider trusted escrow.
