I prefer evolution to revolution.
http://btcnearme.com/  might be of help

I've never actually gone as far as to post an interest to buy or sell to one of those sites. Exactly what does it do to help people strike a deal with locals? Does it send an email to potential sellers/buyers if you are a buyer/seller (respectively) who put up a post? (or vice versa)

For btcnearme, you post your email address and zipcode and country in order to get a list of email addresses of buyers and sellers within 500km.  Your email address is in the list with a X button so you can remove it.  There's also a link you can use to get an alternate email address (at mailinator).

I guess you would have to import a private key.

I'm not sure.  I've not used it.
