I, personally, have a different way of checking the forum topics which interest me. Instead of "Watchlist" I am using the button "Show new replies to your posts". As the name of the button says, when I click on it I see a list of topics where I posted before and where new posts were made by others. This way I am sure I am not missing anything from those threads. Some may call it old fashion, but I got used with getting updated in this way.

In rest, I have a bunch of boards which I'm usually checking, although I may not make any post there. But I have this list of board in my head everyday so I'm checking them naturally, not by consulting a file and see which boards I checked already and which I have to still check. For example, I am going through Bitcoin Discussion, Romanian board, Meta, Beginners & Help, Reputation, Scam Accusation, Collectibles etc. So although I'm not always posting there there are my favorite boards and I'm always checking the activity on them.

And, in rest, the button "Show new replies to your posts" helps me to see all the topics where I wrote before and which have new activity.

Yes that's right. But I assumed that the same list should be not only on the editing page, but also in the "Watchlist" (including already read topics).

But that would generate a huge list of hundreds of topics, many of which have been unanswered for a few years.
Imagine a user like me, who has been on the forum for 10 years. It would have a huge list, which would make this function useless.

Hello. Question more to the forum administration. I've not been here for a long time and perhaps forgot how everything works here Roll Eyes. Going to the "Watchlist" section, I saw that none of the topics that I subscribed to are on the list. When I going to the "Edit watchlist" section, everything are in place (can select and delete them). Topics in the "Watchlist" appear only when there are new messages in them, or this is a bug and topics should always be visible?
From your account's watchlist page, you will see four options, the following twos like match with your question.

Watch list posts
  • This will add all topics you've posted in to your watchlist.

Watch list notifications
  • This will add all topics that you're receiving notifications for to your watchlist.

You can customize how you receive notifications in your profile page
  • Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.
  • When sending notification of a reply to a topic, send the post in the email (but please don't reply to these emails.)

Current topic notifications
For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of:
  • Replies and moderation
  • Moderation only if I started the topic
  • Only replies
  • Nothing at all

But this list does not disappear. As you said, if you edit the watchlist you will see all the threads you are watching.

The topic may not have new answers, it may be completely closed, but to contain useful information that will need at any time. I think in this list it's easier to find what you need, unlike use the forum search. IMHO)

This suggestion is even interesting. Although the current form works very well for anyone who frequents the forum on a daily or almost daily basis.
Perhaps for those who have not come to the forum for a long time, and the topics that are under observation no longer have answers, they may no longer appear on the list.

Did you uncheck the option to automatically watch a topic after replying to them?

Nope

When typing a reply, go to Additional Options and uncheck "watch this topic" so it doesn't get automatically added into your watchlist.

Thanks) I know about this function.

If you're curious about your favorite topic - then maybe this can help you find it again after a long period of inactivity.

The last time you actively posted on the forum was around 2018-11-01 10:50:08 UTC - that was when you applied to one of the campaigns, but you had a long period of inactivity.

There are no problems with searching my own messages. To do this, it's possible to use "Show Posts" from "Profile Info". The topic is a little about another Wink

But anyway - welcome back.

Thank you.

For some reason I suggested that the function should work as "Bookmarks" or "Favorites". Where all the topics are visible, but unread are highlighted with bold font (like topics in some forum subsection).

They only appear when there are new posts in them.
It also usually only appears during a certain period of time, since the last post and when you visit the Watchlist.
