Who would the right backers be? Uncle Joe and Karl Marx? Ivan Sirko?

Karl Marx isn't really referenced anymore, not even in North Korea, and Stalin does not exist outside of a history classroom.

The biggest movements are social democratic parties and worker unions.  As well the current phenomenon is third way socialism and I would say that is currently the plurality view among socialists (reconciliation, equality of opportunity and social justice).

Jackson Palmer, although his recent "episode" means most no longer like him, made a good point before about the prevailing Libertarian culture in Bitcoin.  We have estimates from the Federal Reserve that there are only 100,000 people using Bitcoin and then we have something like 300,000 registered libertarians in the United States.  It seems to me that, with the exception of some Chinese, Bitcoin has largely already milked the demographic of tech savvy libertarians.   A culture of doom porn ("world economy is going to collapse!  Ahhhhh") doesn't do much to address the user adoption crisis.

We definitely need less doom porn and more "Bitcoin with a human face" Bitcoin s lidskou tváří

There is such a thing as a corporate culture, so why can't there be a "cryptocurrency culture"?  To me there are too many Ron Paul type libertarians within Bitcoin and they can't be dislodged and they're holding it back as well.

A year or two ago I would agree with that... These days though the scene is more about making fiat then saving the world... which is a god damn shame cause the potential is here if fuckers would stop being greedy and start really working for the greater good, maybe something would come from it. As it stands now though, I'm not holding my breath... I'd love to be wrong.

Perhaps so but there are some good folks out there.

I do a lot of work with regards to the Donbass in Social Media(Former East Ukraine). As a Ukrainian Canada I feel obligated to fight the fascists there the best way I can, by raising awareness.
I made a suggestion to the XAH Humanitarian Battalion to start accepting Bitcoin donations.
I figure its a good way to receive funds since Bitcoin is somewhat anonymous and any govt would have difficulty seizing accounts or blocking transactions. Bitcoin in this situation is far superior to Paypal for example. A group like suggested here would be good for encouraging folks to donate who share similar views.

The people of Donbass, "pro-Russians" as they are called by Western Media(when they are being kind) likely favor a socialist approach. Perhaps this project could have some positive impact there and help these people who are suffering greatly. I have friends constantly facing shelling from Ukrainian forces who live there. Not good. Lots of humanitarian support is needed. Far more than just the aid they are currently receiving from Russia.

The person who I made this suggestion to is actually an American from Texas, who goes by Callsign Texas. He was previously fighting along side the brave freedom fighters on the frontline defending Novorossiya/Donbass from the Western backed Nazis of Ukraine who are slaughtering civilians all over the area. Texas is good people. Served in US military. Now over 50yrs old. Today is actually is birthday. A musician, former engineer (thats good with explosives). Now doing humanitarian work as well as acting as an independent journalist/activist. A true Socialist to the core and willing to fight for his beliefs. I am not sure if he is actively involved in Combat on the frontline anymore but he still carries his AK while visiting the areas under threat while he performs his duties. Nevertheless he is a true hero in every sense of the word regardless if one shares his political views.

To learn more about him, to wish happy birthday, make a donation(paypal and bank only so far afaik) or find out the truth about whats happening in Donbass/Novorossiya visit his FB page here:

Maybe we should have an International Socialist Crypto Union (ISCU) website for networking?  Pretty much any project committed to the advancement of people, human rights, workplace relations, gender recognition, race relations and equality of opportunity should be free to join.

Sounds like you have a UtopianFuture in mind...

If Uncle Joe is in I am in too!

There are many folks with this mindset out there. However many of the far left also fear bitcoin for odd reasons too. Can't wrap my head around that. Need some socialist white hat hacker group to get behind it and it'll be golden.

Not a bad idea. Could be a good project with the right backers.

There is a networking website called Corona Dapp which a lot of alternates joined, but it was pretty vague as to what it was meant to be or what purpose it served.

I think Bitshares and Redd coin would be among the first members.  I think it would be good if there was a common front with networking with advocacy groups, left wing think tanks, intellectuals and political parties.
