International sports competitions , apart from fostering, the relationship bwtween and amomg countries, allows people to know the culture of different groups of individuals. Usually, supporters pay tickets before they watch football matches. Before the game, they have tr chance to move around the city in which the game is to be played. They can explore the foods common to that city too.
International sports also promotes tourism and helps boost the economy of the country which host sports competiton or football matches.

Business! Yes, we read it. The reason is business. I know that athletes compete not for money but for glory. Is that true? it is hard to prove. Today, sport and business are very alike. First, international competition was meant to keep peace between nations, to push people to be feet. It is a good thing to build bridges between nations. From the Greek with their Olympic games to the Romans, sport has always played a good role in history. However in modern time, it has been used as a machine to corrupt or to make money. Big money in sport has caused a lot of harm. Remember the FIFA scandal? We always knew they were corrupted, but not so much. However I believe international competition is good and a smart way to bring people together and to push athletes to higher results.
I agree. Sports on the international level are unquestionable about money. Especially when it comes to FIFA of the Olympics. It's all about who will spend more money to get the Olympics in their country with the hope that they will be able to generate more revenue in their country by hosting the games. Then the whole event is about advertising and sponsorships. It was so surprising to hear about the fines during the World Cup. Many teams were fined tens of thousands of dollars for things like wearing the wrong socks or drinking the wrong water. Everything has to be what the sponsors paid for.

I don't think most people do sports to cultivate friendship in the world as many people here are suggesting. People to sports to test their limits, to see how good they can get at something. They start to wonder, "Maybe I'm the best in my town?" Then they organize a competition in their town to see who's the best. Then this grows to a state/regional/provincial level, then a national level. At some point, a sport get popular enough in the world that a couple countries get together and decide to see whose country is best. At some point you get events like the Olympics or the Pan-Am games, where an organization decides to gather many sports together and see whose country is best. I think the main reason for the organization of it all is financial gain.

Competition among nations has been in existence over the years, competition like soccer is a leading competition among nations, sometimes I wonder the reason why we must compete internationally, in a closer look at it I came to realise that this competitions helps to maintain peace and unity among nations by bringing them together to do a thing in common. But I think they must be other reasons for this competition which am yet to find out. What do u think is the reason?
You are right, international competitions strengthen friendship between peoples, create new ties, peoples learn more about the lives of others.
In addition, sports competitions are very unifying the nation. All disagreements disappear when all citizens together are becoming fans for athletes from their own country.

it is the time when people let go of all the politics and divisions.

They really don't. From what I've seen, it amplifies people's stances in regards to politics, especially international politics. It does have a 'bringing together' effect, but unfortunately lots of people take it far too seriously. Being proud of 'your' athletes is admirable, but definitely not 'politics free' for many.

The main purpose of this competition was an avenue to create peace and unity.
Nevertheless, that purpose still stands but more reasons such as SUPERIORITY , WHO IS BEST IN A PARTICULAR AREA has actually come into the picture.

International competition especially in sports are one of the most, if not the most anticipated event of the year that almost all of the nations are looking forward to and really do at large support. In nature, it promotes good and healthy relationship between countries and thus bringing unity and peace --- this is the main reason why international sports competition are being held everytime. However, I think that aside from aiming peace and unity, it is also achieving for increase in the economic activity of a country. Admit it or not, sponsorship and commercialism plays a very important role here for the event to continue and become successful. Hence, I think that this is also the reason why international sports competition are conducted.

What should be other reasons for it then? Friendly competitions promote a lighter way for nations to pit their talents with each other. Of course sometimes there are political reasons to it but in general, it's a good way to bond with people from other nationalities.

Competing with other nation or country is a tradition that originated in the past. Peace might be one of a lot of other reasons but I think the closest answer will be tradition, maybe being pride of their country. Though if you think about it, competing with other countries will not give peace since there are a lot of times that people hate each other because of that certain competition. So, maybe they compete to these competitions because they just want to prove that they are the best of that certain sports or competition.

You ask why compete internationally? People organize contests to find the champion. In all we all want to be the winner. so are the nations. And if there are no competitions for international competition, all countries are united. How are the champions?

In the first place, the competitions are a tradition of past, but now we practise them on a larger scale. Also there are political issues as you noticed and economics : these competitions are the more profitable ones.
