Intersango used to be good. What are UK users meant to use now?

Your options include:

Blockchain.info has added the ability to use Barclay's Pingit to buy bitcoins using GBP:

And they now also provide Instant online bank transfer in the UK (and Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland):

Bitcoin-Central has launched its BTC/GBP market, where you can trade after transferring pounds sterling to their bank in France.  The order book is pretty thin yet but they did just launch:

You can also send cash (GBP) in the mail to Bitcoin Nordic (in Denmark):

And, or course, there may be a chance for a local trade:
or
 - http://www.Bitcoin-otc.com

As far as PayPal, about the only option through an exchange would be VirWoX.  With VirWoX you purchase Second Life Lindens (SLL) using PayPal, then trade those SLLs for BTCs.  It isn't the cheapest method, but PayPal beggars can't be choosers.

These people should not be hard to find if someone looked hard enough. But I guess nobody looks hard for a few hundred dollars.  Roll Eyes

Intersango are very well known for their lack of support.

I'm just about to finish up my orders with their system and be done with them for good.

Hopefully another UK domestic exchange can step up to the plate!

Update...

Intersango has told me that they will make a SEPA transfer, and I will believe that when it happens !
I'm not to happy about this solution, because now I have to pay for the SEPA transfer !
I would much rather have some bitcoins, but i guess that is to much to ask - because they didn't answer, when I asked them Embarrassed

MPOE-PR: Yes Intersango had some bitcoins for sale, but I didn't knew that the USD market had closed at the time.
I have other things in my life than bitcoins...

It would be helpful if you gave us details of when you contacted them about this and how.

I thought they put a wall up so everyone can cash out via BTC?

That was for the benefit of US customers when they withdrew from the US market.  If the OP isn't a US customer, it might be possible for him to withdraw in another currency offered by Intersango.

Yea, they do that. You're not alone. I bet you can figure out where did they get the money to buy their dinner tonight. Yes, you're right, they find the money from your pocket.

The men behind Intersango owe me hundreds of bitcoin on the bitcoinica drama, they ingore me and everyone else, too.

Intersango owes me several hundred dollars, but when I ask them how I can get my money back, they just ignores me.
I can't use Dwolla, since I'm not an American, but they could easily send me some bitcoins - but I guess they would rather ignore me and steal my money.
It really pisses me off - especially since this is the second time I have been the victim of the "close exchange, ignore customers, steal money" scam (Tradehill/Jered Kenna did also steal my money).

Well, any suggestions ?
