he first must deposit Euros, thus he first must click "Add funds" in the "Euro" section, not in the "Bitcoin" section, that was his misunderstanding it seems.

There he will find the bank details, and the reference code which he will have to put into the comment field of his bank's credit transfer form.

I'll recommend him using https://www.bitcoin.de/de everything is written in german, perhaps that gives him a little bit more comprehension how to get some bitcoins.

Related to his mail i don't get his problem...
If he wants to add funds to intersange, he needs to transfer the money to the given account. All he needs is to add the uniquie code in the subject of the transfer, so that they can sort it to his account. Perhaps there is a bit confusion about the bitcoin address and his bank account, don't know.

I'll also offer you, to talk to him in german, if that would help Wink

It's too late to have him switch to a difference exchange. He'll throw his hands up in the air and say "fuck it" if I do. Better to proceed with Intersango.

He seems to be having difficulty locating the unique code. Where is it found?

You need to go to "add funds" for the currency you are depositing (there are a few of them there, of which BTC is only one, for BTC you don't need a code).

So, I've got his German friend who I've been trying to get to pay me back some money he owes me in Bitcoin instead of Paypal. But he's been complaining every step of the way how difficult Bitcoin is and I'm afraid of losing him. I don't know how to do things with Intersango because I've never  used the service and I'm in the states. I'm going to paste his most recent email to me. Please help me answer his questions so that I can get him to finished the deal. Thank you!

Coming back to the money: to be honest, this bitcoin stuff costs me a lot of time since I am fighting forward step by step but still have no clue how to do it.

I registered to Intersango now.

The description is not crystal clear. At the HOW-TO Page they say:

“IMPORTANT!!!
All deposits must include the reference code, each account has a unique code, make sure to include it!
It is important that you include the reference code Including "Intersango Bitcoins".

But going to BOITCOIN à ADD FUNDS it doesn’t say anything about a unique reference code.

There is a “unique address”. So, is address = code???

This a little annoying! I spent already hours for this, like this morning it took me again 45minutes but still I am not sure how to proceed.

If address=code than I have to transfer money from my bank account to this by using the “code” so that it will be referenced to me, correct?

EU (Euro €) customers - add funds:
Customers based in the EU and using the Euro€ use a SEPA transfer to add funds to their Intersango account.
