"" Considering that around one percent of the world owns almost half of the world’s wealth, which is around 118 trillion – only 0.5% of that would be enough to bring in almost 600 billion into Bitcoin, which doesn’t sound too farfetched. "" - Source : https://toshitimes.com/bitcoin-might-reach-a-trillion-dollar-market-cap-with-a-price-of-58000-if-etf-is-approved/

This article was published about a year ago and then they calculated that a price of $58 000 per Bitcoin was needed for Bitcoin to have a 1 Trillion USD market cap.  Wink

So, yes it is not impossible...  Tongue

Crazier things have happened. Like an anonymous programmer/mathematician inventing a currency that cannot be taken down by the government. Cool

55,000 USD ? I very much doubt it. 20,000 USD looks more realistic

If you people actually listened to the linked episode rather than prematurely reacting to this topic's headline, you'd immediately realize that this isn't even your typical pull-a-number-out-of-your-ass price prediction.

I've personally listened to a few YouTube and podcast episodes that includes Vortex, and this dude is definitely not your typical moonboy.

Maybe not a moonboy! But definitely it's a speculation without much substance to back up the claim! I am definitely not a negative guy and I would love to see 1 trillion usd market cap, because then I will be able to pay off my mortgage and probably be able to buy a backup property! But I prefer to live in reality. I hope to see such market cap of 1 trillion at least in my lifetime!

Were there "moonboys" during 2012 who predicted that Bitcoin would reach $1,000? Would you say that they lived in reality?

Is Vortex living in reality? Cool

He pretty much just said that bitcoin would need a 1 trillion marketcap for people actually take it really seriously, in contrast to it's current state whereas it's pretty much a niche project/asset. Not sure if I agree with that or not, but it's debatable and it makes sense a bit. It's not a "bitcoin will be have 1 trillion marketcap in *insert date here*. Again, listen to the podcast.

He wasn't being sensational or dramatic at all, so I think we agree on that. Her was merely stating that it is still early days, things may take a lot long than people expect but he is hoping for BTC to have a market cap of 1 Trillion USD by 2024 and to be built into most smart phones (think: Lightning node default installed on phones) kind of like how Netflix is being built into smart TVs lately, and by 2028 for most governments to be openly holding it as a reserve asset. All plausible IMHO.

The time that bitcoin market will reach a market cap of 1 trillion dollars, I am not sure people will take it seriously, do you know what they will do?

They will be full of regrets because then, bitcoin would have been way too expensive for many people to purchase then, and we will still have some doubting Thomas's who would believe that it will drop back to $10 000, just like the way they believed that bitcoin would drop to $2000 when the value was around $7000 till they missed out, though if they are wise, they have still not missed out, they only missed from buying at cheaper price, but if bitcoin market cap will really reach $1 trillion dollars in future, I think that this is the best time for anyone to actually invest now, and I think my investment in bitcoin is actually based on this target of 1 trillion, and I am waiting to get there.

Hey guys, Vortex on this podcast says bitcoin will likely be taken more seriously at a Marketcap of 1 Trillion USD.

https://youtu.be/ewOGlF_AVUg

So, back of the envelope calculations put the price around 55 000 USD if we get to that market cap. Wow, if we can get there... I guess the FOMO would blow off the charts! Me thinks if we hit that we won't stop there!
$55k is a realistic price IMO, we are not far from reaching it. But do we really need all that hype around 1 Trillion? We should first come to a conclusion on what we understand by Bitcoin, what its purpose is, etc. Because you see if we are pushing for mass adoption, we gotta make it possible. And currently, Bitcoin handles way less than enough transactions per second, so real regular usage won't be possible until there's a popular off-chain solution, for instance. And if we don't want mass adoption, then we should not be interested in more attention to Bitcoin that will come along with the high price.

Nothing lasts forever
That's just a FOMO. Do not believe in what others predict speculate . Believe in the tech and then may be the price will cross those numbers for real.
It will take a really long time for bitcoin to actually go to that level.

OP is just calculating the price of BTC if it hits Trillion market cap which I think is very possible in the future.  Institutional funds coming in, regulations on different countries, if regulation is positive, it means the whole country will adopt it and you know what it means.

It is very likely that Vortex assumption will happen though we have to be patience for it.  It may not happen now or next  year but I believe it will be on the future.

Somehow there is truth in the statement of VORTEX. As we know bitcoin hits 20k$ last 2017 only to decline to 8000$ on 2018. The huge bubble pop have caused a major trauma to bitcoin holders especially to new users. Many have gone bankrupt as they sold their houses and properties to buy bitcoin starting at 18k$ to 20k$ to catch the bull train but sadly the bubble popped. This time around to make more people convinced that bitcoin is really a serious financial asset bitcoin needs to overcome 20k$ and much nicer if it really hits 55k$ as Vortex says.

Crypto-Rating.com - Price Prediction At Its Best
$55,000 doesn't seem too unrealistic, but it will probably take time for BTC to hit that price. It could happen, each time when BTC returns from a major drop, it goes several times higher than before. Considering that $20k was its last great achievement, $55k might be possible, with a big enough cash flow. And, while Bakkt is likely not going to impact it as much as everyone would like to believe, there is always a chance for something like that to happen. There are no rules in crypto.
